is it not the same as any blind bagged toy, and i gave everyone on the forum a heads up that they were on sale to help get them to boardies

Dude, no offense, but that's the problem, no you shouldn't, nobody should be buying them off E-bay. Let that guy keep those Grody's that he wanted so bad. People need to quit supporting these guys putting shit up on e-bay for ridiculous prices. It's disrespectful to the creators, whenever we support overpricing (like 280 for a blobpus sludge demon). Also don't backtrack, you asked your friends to buy them for you, just own up to that, and try to understand why people don't like it, instead of making excuses as to why you did it.

Half the shit I've done in life, I feel bad about, but I would have never learned anything, if I never admited that I was in the wrong. Toy Collecting isn't all about being the king of the boards, because you have the most, and the coolest "In Toys" that everyone wants. It's about building a community of friendship, and working within that community to make sure everyone is happy.

I'm sick of fighting with people, so please don't take this as an attack, I'm just explaining my feelings, so maybe you can get a grasp on why people here aren't stoked when you have a full set because you had your friends buy you extra's (especially when it was released 1 per customer). It's the same thing as using duplicate e-mail addresses to try and win a lottery. Sure people do it, but it's such a better feeling to do things the honest way, and win.

For me toy collecting is about the feeling I get, when I get a toy in-hand. I get to feel the shape, examine the paint applications, and learn more about how master painters work. I get to photograph it, and have fun with it. Even buying it can give me pleasure (like when I win a lottery (which almost never happens)). If you let negativity get in the way, I can guarantee that eventually you will fall out of love with collecting. Keep it serene, and you will have fun for years to come.

i wasnt hiding that two friends each got me one. i wanted to get the whole set. i attended the show, and the grodys were delayed. i was given a headds up about them going up on site and made sure boardies knew it right away. if i hadnt done that i would have ended up getting them from other boardies who offered to hook me up. i dont see anything wrong with that.

if its one per customer and you are asking people to assist you with getting around those terms, you are greedy. trading with other collectors is one thing, taking them out of the hands of fans is completely different, and deplorable, really. collecting and hoarding are not the same.

No lie, but I'd be super disappointed if I received any kind of grody with missing limbs...but to each their own.
My only complaint is that busizem doesn't post enough pics of his collection.

Just to throw my two cents in here: apparently, on opening night Jim at FOE agreed to give Sam a heads-up when the Grody exclusives arrived; at that time, Jim and I were expecting a run of 120 figures- 60 pair of Ojis and Karakuris, the number Luke gave us when he got on board. As we know, Luke is pumping out product like a machine, participating in a crazy number of shows and projects, and after a long delay, he had to scale back our run to just 30 pieces. Jim kept his word and gave Sam a heads-up when they went on sale; Sam passed the word on right away, and many other people were able to score. As for Sam buying through proxies- it’s right to say that that wasn’t fair; personally, I would have much preferred that he had tried straight-up asking Jim if he could snag a whole set. I’d ask, though, that anyone who’s feeling ire over this temper it with the following info: Sam drove 3 hours to come to opening night of the show, and he and his crew were the first people waiting outside for doors to open, and they stayed for the full three hours. Am I saying that people who come out to support shows are likely to, perhaps even deserve to receive some perks, preferences, hook-ups? Yes, I am. Absolutely. I don’t think that it should be expected by patrons, but I think it’s entirely appropriate. Also, as he said in his own defense, he has no rep as a flipper, and plans to display and cherish these figures. If at some point he decides to sell, I hope he would do as others have done in the near-constant stream of Grody selling and reselling and reselling* we are seeing on this board, and keep them at his cost.

Okay, so that was more like eight cents, but there you go.

*My guess is that if you really want these guys… and at a fair, non-eBay flipper price- time and patience are on your side. Hang in there!

my guess would be with 30 pieces as opposed to 120, the options are ebay flipper prices or none... but I do appreciate your explanation and certainly your optimism.

thnx to Sam for the heads up after he swallowed one tenth of the available supply. stay classy!

that flipper is not stupid, I'd bet he is fully aware of where that grody came from but is just using TAG as a keyword for searches. What I don't understand is why the fuck he is still being sold to? Wasn't it Amy who wrote some big long thing about being ant-flipper? How hard is it to figure out who the seller is and to stop allowing his purchases? Every fucking release this asshole gets something to flip. This scene is too small for this to continue.

In this case the grody came from FOE and I doubt they seeded out any flippers, so anyone could order, didn't come from Amy

All the drama, silliness, and inane empty posts. I wish I could hit reset, and once again experience the original untainted excitement I had for Grody toys. Some toys would be a lot better off without a Skullbrain thread, and that is unfortunate.
