Love them, now I have a mission! By the way sir, congratulations on getting Ugly Dolls into Toys-R-Us. I saw an awesome display of them the other day, an entire end cap of ugly dolls. It's a goal of mine to one day produce toys that are inexpensive enough for kids to buy and play with.
Thanks x 10000. The best thing about saying no to all the big retailers for a decade is when you go to one to say yes, they'll give you 30 ft of space up at the front. =)
they are in stock and up on our site, http://www.uglydolls.com/products/produ ... .0.0.0.0.0? only single carded of 4 guys for now, working on getting full sets up asap I don't mean to come across as wanting to sell something here. I just feel like I finally have something to offer which somewhat comes close to the awesome junk I've been hoarding from Nakano Broadway/Mandarake for the last couple decades. Want to say HUGE thanks for all the input and patience. Funny how getting crappy cheap unpainted toys took a lot longer than tin toys or a party favor line with 267 items in it. While we've been working on a lot of different projects, this one has been the most exciting because it's so close to home for us, having grown up loving Keshi figures. http://www.uglydolls.com/products/produ ... .0.0.0.0.0?
Nice the full sets look fantastic. I completely appreciate the nod to the Keshi figures. Is the purple truly purple? The images I've seen look pink or magenta. If that's the case, I'm going to have to track some down.
Has anyone found these cute boogers at Party City? I tried mine this weekend. No Ugly merch of any kind, and they looked at me funny when I asked. Of course, everyone does when they see me.
Party City has the green ones, no green versions on the blister cards. Not every Party City location has the set ups yet but all locations should within next 2 weeks.
Thanks! My set just arrived yesterday. If anyone is thinking of ordering this, the set is essentially an unopened case of 15 carded packs. These figures are really incredible; the look and size and heft are spot-on as far as the keshigomu toy comparison goes. I think it would be really cool to see these in a gashapon machine or to have a little catalog of the characters packed in with them (or maybe some crappy soda-flavored gum?). Eh?
Yeah, I got mine in yesterday too! Didn't score a Wage. Will probably order another pack or two, hoping that I get lucky on the next batch. Really cool! Like an UglyDoll MUSCLE figure, with lots of good fortune!
these were very hard to track down in our area because they're not labeled as "lucky uckys" at party city -- just "figurines." i asked about their availability over the phone before making the long trips out, but no one on their end knew what i was talking about they're only sold individually-bagged (no blisters) without the proper name on the sticker seal. just letting you guys know if you're looking for them locally. also, what's the trick to making them stand properly? otherwise, fantastic little buggers! the colors are bright with just the right amount of lo-fi look & feel i'll have to make an additional trip to see if they've restocked the sold out ones. totally worth the trouble.
Dean has found all the greens at Party City: http://www.gramfeed.com/deanobot There's 6 different green guys. The green ones have popped up here from time to time under "figurines": http://www.partycity.com/search.do?query=uglydoll all other variations are on the card and still somewhat available / out there. http://www.uglydolls.com/products/categ ... 5392.0.0.0? Most of these went to Japan through Medicom, so not sure how many are left in the US. We only put the carded versions in about 100 stores in the US.
