Yup, Bear Model GID is outstanding. Potent as hell. I've always admired that G'54 sculpt, and the subtle spray on that figure is great. [Saw you posted in the Favorite Godzilla Toy thread too...nice!]
Yeah, I posted a different pic so it wasn't a double post. I love that thread! You're right, the GID is insane. Super bright.
That is a real nice Goji. I have come very close a few times to grabbing this one. I am actually not that into GID stuff, but the great sculpt and Hawaii paint really swung me over. I've got this same guy in the smoky grey - one of my favourite Goji versions.
Bear Model Lucky Bag by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr My newest score King Bokkuru (the big one) with Bakutari. . . .
I'm kind of regretting not picking up the painted Bokuru now... That sculpt is ridiculously good, but what Bear Model isn't.
Yeah, the painted version is fetching quite high prices already . . . . same goes for the painted Bakutari Bear Model still remain a bit of a mystery to me . . . i would love to know more about their company history and who does their sculpting etc. There seems to be very little information online about them . . .
Really cool. That guy on the far right is completely new to me. I really love his stance - it just screams guy in a rubber monkey suit, like you would expect on a 70s TV show. Bearmodel is doing great things, I hope they are more accessible though.
Cawra, Maglar and Shirage. Marmit and other companies have made versions of the first two. I vaguely remember someone (Rich?) asking if the kaiju seen on this Godman header had ever been made in vinyl form. He has now! Shirage by bansheebot, on Flickr
^^ Definitely must purchase . . . been reading about this one on some Japanese blogs. Apparently Bear Model did the sculpt a while ago but have been sitting on it . . . i imagine this will be a popular one in Japan, i wonder how many will make it overseas . . . .
OK - i have a question about a Bear Model sculpt that does or does-not exist . . . . maybe a more knowledgeable collector on SB might be able to put me out of my misery! GUBIRA (or Gubila) グビラ There is definitely a Bear Model mini of Gubira, here is my one: Gubira by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr I always assumed that there was a full size version by Bear Model because he appears on some of their header cards : Bear Model Header Card by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr But after a lot of searching I can find no evidence of a full-size version other than some pics that COOP posted on his flickr stream. He says that this version is Bear Model but I'm almost sure now that it is actually Marmit : L1590744.jpg by COOP666, on Flickr Now, i don't like to contradict a mega-collector like COOP but this looks identical to the Marmit Gubira - even the paint looks identical on the images i've seen. So . . . anyone know if a full size Bear Model Gubira actually exists?
Wish I could help, Moog! Maybe message COOP about it? I don't really care for the Glotess Seijin dude, but that mini Kodaigon... Holy shit I want that in my life.
Yes it does exist and it happens to be the one in your picture. The two company's toys look exactly alike because they're one in the same! Check the makers logo on the top - it's the numbered Marmit circle with a bear paw in it - what we have here is a collab. Our man Coop is both wrong and right! I wish I knew more of the story (and if they cross-produced on any other figures). Nice shot of the mini. Joe!
^^^ Thanks for clarifying that toothaction . . . . i've seen this Gubira a few times but it was always described as a Marmit figure. The fact its a collaboration makes perfect sense . . . i never thought of that possibility! And bansheebot, i totally agree this mini Kodaigon is great
I have definitely seen that logo on other headers before, but had no idea this is what it meant. How did you figure this out anyways? I always just thought it was a Godzilla or other kaiju footprint
Congrats Moog, does it come from the lucky bags released in may ? It looks like it's made of clear vinyl, or is it a lighting effect ?
Cheers, and yeah, its a recent lucky bag as far as i know. Its a clear yellow vinyl. For that photo i just held it up to my window so it was back-lit and then cut out the background in photoshop . . . . He goes really nice with the other two clear vinyl lottery versions i got recently Shelf sweet-spot by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr
I know! With your luck, we need to go halfsies on some scratch-offs. Ha, actually 1 should do just fine Awesome Spectreman, by the way. One of my favorites.
The newest Magura and fellow Spectreman enemies arrived these last weeks !!! Noman in another lucky bag version, Zuno in soft type and KABAGON (the teacher kaiju ) !
