Recently I started having packages delivered to my work, (mainly because the Post Office by me cut their hours way back) an a bunch of co workers have gotten to see the cool, strange, cute, and scary toys I collect. I also put up a shelf of toys which gets lots of stares, comments and rearranging. I thought it might be appropriate to have a toys at work thread for anyone else to share their stories, pictures, whatever.

I checked for a thread like this but couldn't find 1. If I missed it, point me in the right direction.

1 toy I have at work is a Grody Monstergool. Everyone thinks it is super creepy and it gets passed around from desk to desk and no one wants to keep it for very long.

1 coworker commented today that all my toys look like they jumped in a bath of tie-dye paint and that they all had something wrong about them. My response to this was showing him how awesome a Boss Carrion's "fish tail" was and the Nebulon 5's Cadaver Kid is the only toy that even likes tie-dye.

Let's hear some stories from people who see your toys but are on the outside of our tiny toy bubble.

I guess this could also go in the collection area, as it is about toys, but it felt more like a whatever topic.

My spare Popy Thundermask was hanging out on my desk for about a year, along with other toys. My co-workers like to hide my assorted toys, or re-arrange them somewhere in my office to see if I notice or not--i.e. the CCP Bakular was sitting on top of a kitteh plush, holding a breakfast scone, when I first came in one morning :) . This is good, because I got a nice blueberry scone, even though I arrived late--usually latecomers get stuck with bran muffins. Well, they ALL immediately noticed that Thundermask had disappeared! He was adopted out recently :D . They also like to play with new incoming toys that get delivered to the office (I also have all my toys delivered to the office)--these usually hang out for a week or so, after I've unpacked them, and then bring them home, unless they are really popular and start circulating on their own! Everyone immediately fell in LOVE with the little pink gashapon Butas that arrived. Had a hard time retrieving them back from people who seriously wanted to keep them! Nothing too weird or scary, as I usually go for the "cute" toys. The Bakulars seem to be "most interesting", the dinos are what most people can relate to, a RedYoda custom SemiNinjen (painted in a black business suit) seems to be the "weirdest", and Horvath Noupas are the "cutest". They have no idea what it costs or how these toys are acquired, but they do have fun with them!

The Buta gashapons reminded me that the girl next to me has 1 of my standing pocket killers permanently perched on top of her computer monitor. She has no idea what it cost, or that it's a 1 off. Just thinks it is really cute.

^^That is AWFULLY nice of you!
The cuteness factor gets raised a notch, when a co-worker "borrows" a toy, and then you happen to walk by and see that they are genuinely having fun playing with the toy!

the housekeeping staff stole a pair of headphones off of my desk at work but were nice enough to return them after I complained to property management. I love my toys too much to leave them unattended here.

I have a little wooden Tokyo set by my desk that I received from some friends when I lived in Japan. I leave it up and bring toys to/from work to hang out there. Here's what it looks like today and photo from the day before:

I like to bring a toy to work with me every day! Its nice to spend a little time with them on their own away from the collection every once in a while.

I think you can get other cities too, they come in a little bag that you can pack up and take with you. I like it too! :D

How strange. I said the title of this thread out loud to my girlfriend this morning. I was thinking of bringing one of the few new minis I've received lately to work with me today, but ultimately decided against it. I don't really want to be that guy, plus we've got customers and other visitors in and out on a somewhat regular basis. I do, however, have a squeaky plastic Halloween rat decoration, a crappy camera Transformer that an ex-coworker got for me last minute at a Walgreens as a Secret Santa gift and a red Koosh Ball dude, amongst other random desk buddies.

Not many coworkers know about my nasty habit, and those that do either a) think it's weird and don't care (or get it, maybe), or b) think it's weird and have tons of questions.
