the shelves were Ikea scraps for $1 each and I got some industrial looking hardware to mate it with. I wound up replacing the sleepy cats with some fortune cats that didn't fit on the other shelves.
Wow psilo, your collection looks great on those new shelves . . . awesome Atom action Here's a new shot of my Sofubi waterfall . . . . . Vinyl Corner 12-07-12 by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr
love your cats psilo!!! very nice line up, looking great altogether. totally into the wooden boards, metal bolts giving them a cool industrial look.
^ ^ ^ That 2H mix and the Kougai HP steal the scene for me... great set up and collection you have there, congrats! Love the Garg selection too, looks like you've carefully thought of each toy. Very nice
After not being too into the MG2 due to the ball/chain, I'm now in love with it - particularly in the mecha colors!
Thanks! Yeah, I spend alot of time fussing over colorways. I've had some really nice toys that don't fit in with the setup or general color scheme, and after awhile they begin to annoy me. I don't have bins with toys anymore as I like to see everything dispalyed together at once. So many good memories on these shelves. Thanks Ian! The Hirota Saigansho toys are so fun to play with. It's really a shame you have to jump through so many hoops to score them. I recall the first day the Gorilla-Jus went on sale and you could just walk up and buy them, like picking up a carton of milk. I was worried that he might be too gainly, but he's about the same size as the 2HB and fits in nicely with the others on that shelf. Thanks! And actually, my favorite toys in the case are the Gargamel minis. So much work goes into painting such small figures.
The way the teeth are painted on that Deathra in the top right-hand corner make that my best in show custom for SDCC 2012. And the way the miborah (2nd from the right) can be displayed holding the mask just tops this all off. Awesome display. Gives me much to aspire to! I wonder if folks realize just how fast out the gate you had to be to try and pick these beauties up at SDCC!
Nice stuff as always! Glad to see you haven't sold the Killers - and still think they should be the next to go eh. I think I might have asked but have forgotten: was the black pocket Smogun a regular release?
Thanks guys! And the pocket black smogun/deathra/zagoran are the test pulls for the sculpts and are the only ones of their kind. They were a gift to a friend of Gargamel, who sold them to Mandarake. I was lucky to score them in a trade.
i feel exactly the same way. there are so many toys that i see (and that i've owned) which looked awesome by themselves but just don't fit in when i put them next to everything else. it wouldn't be as big of a deal if i still had a really big collection but i'm trying to keep it down to just one shelf now, for reasons of both money and space.
