Lots of threads for those with kids, but where are my DINKS? (Dual income no kids!) Are Skylar and I the last hetero couple in this camp? Feeling like we are in our real life. No plans for kids and totally happy about it. Anyone else?
I qualify as a dink... I am a fan of zero population growth personally but just like atheism, I don't try to force it down anyone's throat.
I suppose pride is a strong word. I agree with everything you said. I was just looking for some camaraderie since I am one of the only childless people I know. If people want kids, go for it- it's not for me and probably never will be.
I was actually thinking of having two children and selling one to finance the upkeep of the other.*** ***purple text for sarcasm
yo! The wife isn't 100% on board with no kids, but every time we hear one, she quickly gets back on board. Just don't have the desire to procreate.
I currently claim DINK status. Haven't fully decided on whether I'll remain a member - but for now, definitely.
Me and Mrs. Hellopike are married with no kids and there are no complaints here. All that money that would go towards toys for the kid goes to toys for me. hehe
I am in Phoenixville, all of us Philly area *INKS should meet up on a school night and do something fantastically irresponsible... like eating Ikea salty licorice fish and watching the new season of Project Runway together (maybe you have better ideas???) !!!
The South Philly Ikea is five blocks from my house. Sometimes when I get "bored' (which is a euphemism for how I feel after I take my glaucoma medication) I wander around it like it's my house; spending time in my living rooms, checking out a new bedroom and ultimately eating swedish meatballs while I stare out of the window of the cafeteria lookin' at that giant derelict ship in the harbor. And I'm allowed that level of man childishness because Im a SINK.
Am currently looking to gain DINK status: I have two kids, ages 17 and 13, that I will trade for a nagnagnag. Oh, forget it, I already have one, hence the "D" in DINK.
While I am definitely not a climate change denier, I don't buy into direct speculation of what nature will do. That we have issues I believe, that they can predict the end of the earth when they can't predict picnic weather... not so much. I was a big dink for a while but sometimes unexpected things happen.
