After the show I was literally so exhausted I went to a nearby hotel and sat slumped in a lobby chair for 30 minutes...drinking an Asahi. I'm not sure which is worse. Cruel punishment.
From what I hear the event was packed and hectic. Trying to take pictures of every release is something i'd never be able to do (mostly because i'm so busy looking instead of taking pics)
Thank you so much, Andy! Your coverage is always so thorough and well-shot! Very much appreciated, always eagerly awaited! Damn, so much greatness coming out... that clear blue Gary! And I never thought I would say this about a toy of this particular Ultra-entity, but that Barunga!!! It's like Lovecraft's loofah...
Yeah i'm wondering what was the deal with the PK stuff at figlab, preview? Sale? Was the unchiman from Don's instagram for sale? Didn't see it in Andy's shot of the figlab booth.
Amazing coverage andy - THANK YOU!! I can't believe Denboku made Jim Hawkins. Never in my life did I think I would see Takarajima toys but there they are. Super rad.
It's depressing but unless you are a dealer inside before the doors open you never will see it on sale, most of it ends up straight on YJA. I Gave up even trying, the couple times I got to the table by the time it was my turn the things I wanted were gone, it's always such a small amount considering the popularity of the characters they release every time.
Denboku is great, and definitely an under reported toy maker to us westerners. I've constantly been trying to track down a few of their figures, but as Baikin said, a lot of them are too hard to come across, and when they do the price is a premium.
PK stuff was sold at 1:00 via lottery. There were a total of 10 pieces for sale. Most went to the same YJAers who attend every show. The reason the undereported Denboku shows up in fits and starts is (as far as I can tell) they primary focus on releasing figures at WF under one-day license arrangements.
so much good stuff this thing is pretty nuts, i can see it as a centerpiece for my kitchen table. me and him and my cereal
Paul, all I can say is I saw how it went down and who was in line. At least 1 did go to a collector and 1 to a toy maker. Not all "buyers" put their stuff on YJA. Some sell to Mandarake. Some act as "agents," etc.
saw this and fell in love! anyone has any info on this? seen @ wonfest as well update: found it at kaiju korner. apparently made by kaiju ken. wonder if this is a prototype or is currently for sale at wonfest?
Do not get me wrong here. I do not condone or encourage the act of flipping or reselling. Yet, you cant deny these acts do help some people get what because they cant attend the event.
has anyone been able to score a set of these? really pissed i can't find them. or does anyone know the price at the fest?
