We are headed to San Diego in the spring and my kid could care less about Disney, all he wants to do is go to Lego Land.
"Lego has been accused of racism by the Turkish community over a Star Wars model that supposedly resembles one of Istanbul’s most revered mosques" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... s-set.html
Just got a couple of the new Monster sets to share with the kids. They really enjoy them. Good stuff.
I just discovered this amazing custom scene. The attention to detail and theme is stunning, not to the mention the creativity that went into it. I keep getting drawn in by little things I notice in it. It is definitely worthy of extended viewing. A Disgraced Samurai Performing the Seppuku Ritual Full series on flickr.
What we've all been waiting for. In other news, all these are amazing: http://nerdapproved.com/toys/these-lego ... +Gizmos%29
Just saw this pic today, and first thing that came to my mind was how much I would love to play the Lego MOTU video game. I can't remember, but I think I brought this up before - I love those games, and really putting any franchise to them makes for a very decent and fun time; so many other movies I would like to see them do. Still, there is hope for a TMNT one now maybe, that they have the license.
Definitely generated, that look is what made me think of the video game aspect. These are by Gregos Thomas, but that is about all I know.
Wow. That must have taken some time to design and put together. Lego should expand its licenses to more properties like these.
did some googlin and read that there was interest from both sides but still some red tape in the way, I'm sure it will happen eventually.
Yeah, what with the competition between two major toy giants (Mattel and Lego) and them trying to sell all of the re-release and new stylised MOTU figures, I can imagine it might take some doing. But still, Lego Snake Mountain? Oh man, endless possibilities.
Got this in the mail today. It's the first time I get to see a CUUSOO project in hands. I'm told by the resident Minecraft freaks (my kids) that's it's awesome
I got it a few weeks ago. I've never played Minecraft but believe it is awesone as well. I am now getting excited about series 10. And maybe the Movie Theater if I finally get to know how much money we have after the sale of the house...
Did a anyone else read about how Lego is ceasing production on one of its Star Wars Jabba playsets, because apparently a complaint was lodged in Austria that it is racist, specifically, anti-Muslim? (i.e. hookah pipe-smoking terrorist) Seriously, not an April's fools joke. Sad, truly. He is a slimy giant lizard - this is what is upsetting people these days? There are real issues in this world we should be focused on. Details for those interested.
Nonono. There were complaints a few month ago I believe. Lego said they wouldn't do anything about it. Now they say they'll stop production in 2014 but it's a pure PR move: most sets stop production ater two years, which is what is happening here...
That was my interpretation too, I am just upset that this was even an issue that was ever brought up, let alone addressed in a serious fashion. Anyways, it is all about the first Jabba's Palace playset anyways. Someday, you will be mine.....

Did anyone check out the new Lego Ewok Village playset? here Looks fantastic as usual, but at 250$ they are really pushing the limit for sets being available to 'children' anymore. I mean, I thought the Death Star and Falcon were already crazy. Okay fine, there is a massive collectors' market out there and they are willing to pay this without hesitation (and double or triple on the aftermarket). But as a parent looking to buy a present for their child, this makes it pretty rough. And the kid in me just sees this as kinda cruel, because you know that every child even hearing of this would want one, but it just isn't very realistic for most families - and that makes me incredibly sad.
