^ you've unearthed something really special with this. resin garage kit? i wonder if even kiyoka himself has one of these.
BIG Congratulations, Bryce! Truly a jawdropper and I'm glad it's now in your collection! NEVERever thought I'd see one of these pop up here or anywhere. I know I'd never let it out of my clutches! *droooooooool** ***covet**
Amazing piece of toy history. Hmm, so 2002 would put it right around the time when they were still making silver jewelry. The box of the Mecha Acroyear ring has a 2002 copyright mark, but that was one of the later jewelry pieces, if I recall correctly. At any rate, it must be one of their first 'toys.' EDIT: Wow, it even predates the Gargamel Mutron Microman suit (2003): http://visibleinnards.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8075 I wonder if this was THE first Gargamel toy.
There are several in his infamous collection shots (along with some of the cleanest examples of the rare Mario stuff from the 80's.....)
I wanted to get this out of my system before the flood of SDCC scores starts to occupy this page... The butt-end of my Thrashman collection. Almost makes me wish that they hadn't clipped my tail when I was six weeks old.
Damn.. such a nice group of painted micro's, Would love just one of these. I think the first release black with blue is still my favourite.
I wish I knew how to find the old Gargamel site from years ago, it had all the jewelry and early stuff on it, it would be nice if it was still out there somewhere. Somewhere I have the Jet Jaguar ring they did, would love to have the Gaigan too!
^^ I've seen a few of their jewelry in images but would love to see a group shot of the rings. I would have loved to own this. vv
Couple of Kiyoka customs from 2011... There is a micro Angel Bird inside. Sort of a combo of the HMV standard Zag and the Toumei mini. The clear colors over the paper/wire inserts create a neat 2-D to 3-D effect as you turn the figure around.
