Happened to me once with a target earth piece. packaged well, just a freak occurrence A careful glue job will make it like new.
RIght on. I might be a bit overly particular about things to a fault. The fact that crack is there would always bother me. A similar thing happened to me once with a custom that had additional resin parts. The buyer sent it back & I repainted/replaced the broken piece. This time I shipped it back triple boxed!! haha...These things happen in the shipping game.
^^^^ ...Mike man i am right with you there. If i got a toy and had to glue a non clean break, it would always bother me too. OCD is a horrible affliction. And it is/was damn great of you to fix up one of yr damaged pieces for a collector! Issues happen in post all the time, and its always so damn amazing when artists and craftsmen not only care, but also rectify a problem that usually had nothing to do with there packing method, and everything to do with bad luck, drunk postal elves and other issues.
Thnx dude! Didn't mean to derail the thread into my own endeavors. Let's get back to the Jet Turre action:
This teaser has been tantalizing me for several days, has kept me checking Kaji's FB and instagram daily for a full reveal...
What a big chunk of vinyl. A BEAST! Fucking love it! Can't wait to take better pictures of this beauty.
then you should have waited to post until those better photos were ready. just kidding, this photo is perfectly adequate i'm more intrigued by the happy hulk family that's adopted the derpy e.t. in the back! what's the story there?
It's my green and purple shelve. (MVH Ollie and Faceless Bull behind Kai Thunder) 70s was so positive, that even Hulk was happy back then. (both in 12" and magnetic European release) Mego really nailed the spirit of that decade! …and that e.t. - I was huge e.t. fan as a kid. When I saw this, I HAD to have him! Bought it from Paris couple of years ago from a small watch boutique. I was so exited about the find that I forgot to ask who the artist was... They had close to 20 pieces around the store in green and brown as decoration. It's thick blow-mold vinyl with glass eyes. And yes - very derby indeed
^ thanks for the info! back on track with yet another requote: a scene ripped straight out of pacific rim—love the "fire" and atmosphere!
Thnx for the kind words guys! I had to climb out on these slippery rocks by the bay in the dead of night with a tripod. Waves were cracking on the rocks but I wasn't able to capture them. The light illuminating the shark's face is from the 'flashlight' app on my iphone. MacGyver styleee revealed. Fun.
Is that anchor break related to extreme temperature swings in air mail? Doe vinyl become brittle in cold ?
FYI to those that had a broken anchor. The temp is the issue. When soft vinyl gets very cold it becomes more brittle. I had the brown Guybot with the hammer and when I attempted to straighten the slightly bent part it snapped due to the package having sat in very cold temps. My guess is the anchor got bumped in transit and since a good part of the county has been in freezing temps makes sense. That's my take on it.
