Well the next Ford Brothers installment "The Dead 2 India" is finally out. Never got a full on release here in the US for theaters but the DVD is finally out today! Just nabbed a copy on Amazon. I loved the original "The Dead" set in Africa. Walking Dead pretty much blows so it's nice to have one good zombie flick this fall.

Agree and looking forward to seeing it. The idea of India going undead is crazy. Imagine all those bodies coming back out of the Ganges.

I just got chills from that visual. Truly disturbing. Well done.

Just saw The Honeymoon and I liked it. Very character driven with most of the suspense and scares coming from just two people and their relationship. Kind of a thriller and a mystery as well as a horror flick. Not fast paced or action oriented at all but if you like a slow boil give it a shot.

AVOID THIS SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE!

Really hit that invasion of the body snatchers vibe as well and I was cringing a lot when he was pulling that thing out and again when she decided to "hide" him in the lake.

I really am enjoying these new movies that try the less is more approach. Giving more attention to acting and dialog and not just pouring every penny of the budget into cgi effects makes for some cool flicks.

agreed....!!! I'm also anxious to see the new Eli Roth film as well, looks promising..

    here comes the shitty part....

Bad news for Eli Roth fans. Roth’s first directorial effort in six years, The Green Inferno, had been scheduled to hit theaters early next month on September 5th, but now Open Road Films has scratched that plan and looks to be dropping the film, putting the Green Inferno release date up in the air for the moment. Per Deadline, the reason for the delay has to do with financier Worldview Entertainment, which is not keen on maintaining the P&A (aka “print and advertising”) commitment that was set by ex-CEO Christopher Woodrow. With the company refusing to pony up the cash needed for the marketing campaign, Open Road has opted to scratch plans to release the film. More after the jump.
It’s unclear when and how The Green Inferno might reach viewers now, as it’s possible that the pic could simply go straight to VOD or be released through some other less-costly route, but Deadline notes that behind-the-scenes talks are ongoing in order to find a solution. Another distributor will likely swoop in and snap the film up at some point, but its fitting fall-centric release date will likely come and go.

I haven't seen that for years. I am going to find a copy of it on ebay. Thanks for the reminder.

Just watched The Battery and I can say it's it my top 5 zombie movies ever made. Which is funny considering I would imagine most of my horror fan friends not liking the movie at all. It has no budget and pretty bad special effects but the entire movie is about the friendship between two people. It's funny and sweet and sad and honestly everything I wanted from The Walking Dead show but didn't get.

Werewolf movies are my favorite movie monsters. It's a shame because most werewolf movies stink. Dog Soldiers barely nudged the Howling out of 2nd place in my top werewolf movies. Number one being An American Werewolf in London. All three are excellent. If you liked Dog Soldiers check out the Descent by the same director too.

Have you seen WER yet? It's some type of found footage werewolf movie that came out recently. I haven't had a chance to catch it yet but it's on my list.

I just saw The Guest last night. One of my favorite characters in a movie, ever. It is also the first time I have goten a man boner since Drive.

Watched it last night. I really liked it. Very differant from any other werewolf movie. Also just watched Werewolf:the beast among us. A fairly decent movie ruined by horrible cgi. The werewolf is terrible looking. A guy in a suit would have been better.

I am hoping to catch it tonight and I'll let you know what I think for sure if I do.

Man I watched Don't Blink last night. I was kind of looking forward to it since it had a few people who can actually act and the premise was interesting.

    Minor spoilers...

I actually really enjoyed it right up until the last few minutes which pretty much ruined the whole movie for me. It's one of those flicks where you are trying to figure out what's going on the whole time. The acting and story were really good as well as the script. The setting was decent as well and I was entertained the whole time until the last few minutes.

    Major spoilers...

The actual end was a total cop-out. They didn't explain anything at all so the entire movie felt like a waste of time. Especially since it was as much of a mystery as it was a horror movie.

Didn't care much for The Guest. Felt a bit pointless and like a bad 70's film. Might have been because it was at a Film Thing so everybody had to over amp how much fun they were having at watching a movie. Not sure if I was annoyed by the film AND the audience or just to much by the audience.

Finally saw Under the Skin last night. It could have been the bastard child of 2001, Species, Beyond the Black Rainbow and the Man Who Fell to Earth. I love all of those movies, so you'd think I would love Under the Skin. It was just ok though.

The good things it had going for it was how beautifully it was filmed. It was acted well enough and there was some decent disturbing moments throughout. The score was excellent too. Very unnerving. I'm all for art house films but even for art house I felt that not quite enough happened and it wasn't quite stylized enough for me to get over not much happening.

Definitely didn't hate it and wouldn't say don't watch it to anyone but I don't feel the need to see it again. I will however be keeping an eye on the director Jonathan Glazer. It seems like he's got some good things to build on in his career.

Good luck guys. Report back with progress, sounds like fun.

I've been trying to do a horror movie each night in October for years unsuccessfully.

I've finally given up and now me and a couple like minded friends and our dogs take a day off near Halloween and binge on unhealthy food and beer from early morning till night watching as many horror movies as we can in the day.

This will be the fourth year running. The only thing we always watch each year is Trick R Treat.

    Oh and great choices Danny.
