I'm going to jump in as well and mention that Lulubell is the ONLY toy store site I check regularly at this point, because no other USA store carries the amount of wonderful sofubi toys or original works as you guys do. (And I can't afford a forwarding service for JP purchases, so I'm out of luck for those releases... though I do occasionally check JP sites and end up feeling like a tortured soul.) We truly do appreciate you making a lot of Japanese releases accessible to us and all of the original pieces you and Luke put out.
I think this piece is BRILLIANT. I'm pretty sure the head is the ass end of some dinos that Bwana got a hold of from Luke a couple months ago.
The header for Francois Le Grand looks so great ! Anyone know if NYCC versions will be painted, or black unpainted ? Can't wait for the milky greens to start shipping ! Also couldn't help but notice the header reflects a spelling change. Not that it matters to me....I just want that epic Franky toy to arrive !
Thanks, bros ! If I would have just shown a bit of patience I would have answered my own question when the Lulubell update arrived Very unique colorway for the NYCC version.
NYCC leftovers were posted on Lulubell's website earlier today, including the new Grody Grouse sculpt that made its debut at NYCC.
The Grouse actually made its debut at SDCC. There was a painted version and one blank of each green and blue.
Whoops my bad, must have been quite a quiet release since I didn't hear about it until NYCC! Thanks for the correction.
^^^^ I admit, I have no idea where the head is supposed to be on the piece (does it even have a head?) but it's supposed to be a grouse, which is one wacky bird.
haha ok thanks for the info. guess i should have googled "grouse" didn't realize that was an actual animal, never heard of it
Someone working at the lulu booth explained that its supposed to be what you interpret. That grody just sculpted it for fun and that someone said it looked like a headless chicken to them so he named it grouse
Oh, those are great! I'd still probably be chasing Luke's stuff if he was churning out more abstract whatsits. I'm still pining for these organo growths from three Novembers ago:
That was more than likely me. When I asked Luke about it at SDCC, he pretty much said he just went off on random textures without having anything in mind. That, of course, could simply be what he told me for the sake of backstory, rather than giving it the intended purpose to look like a grouse bird. I didn't even know that thing legitimately existed until these images were posted from the Google search.
Oh damn, didnt realize that was you! (with the secret base shirt on?) nice meeting you. I was the dude that bought the last francois.
