Not sure if i am selling any, i am sure the prices i would have to charge to make building these profitable or even to break even would be embarassingly absurd. Each one ties up my small mill for about 5 days and then takes about 6 hours of hand work to get finished and polished. There is no stain or finish on the wood, it is just high polished hardwood. I am working on a bunch of other wooden one-offs, maybe if i don't get completely burnt out on sanding i'll make some more to sell or trade. The walnut version is a 3 inch ball that stands about 3.5 inches high. The Purple heart version is slightly smaller. proabably just over 3 inches tall. i've got a brass set for you, right here
it's been in the mill since tuesday, i just finished polishing it this morning. I have a bunch of zebrawood, but right now i am out of thick stock all i have left are .25' and thinner.
Bryan-are you using some of the exotic african hardwoods.I know certain species are like stone-Very nice man!!!!!!
Those two are not that rare, the golden brown one is walnut and the other is purple heart which is a pretty common central and south american wood. I do have some beautiful exotics that i have used in the past to make jewelry.
I know a gentleman here that makes custom kinves that uses some of the exotics..We have a lumber yard here that carries all kinds of stuff from Bubinga to wenge and rarer stuff too-Always nice to see someone working w/a different material-Love the pink guy!!!!
Those instantly reminded me of these dog toys: http://www.amazon.com/JWPet-Bad-Hard-Rubber-Squeaky/dp/B00067P82C
they should, the file i used to create the cnc paths to cut the wood are the same ones i sent to the factory to make the molds for the rubber ones.
Can I get the Frankenstein design in Koa wood? I can get the wood so pm what it will cost if it is possible. I love your dog toys but I don't have a dog so I think these are for me if possible.
your toys rock! You can sell your other sculps to those guys on KR for $100 each! I like the dino... me, since i'm a cheap bastard, i'll just buy the dog versions...
