Yeah, maybe 1-off is the more popular vernacular, though in the past they've done small handpaint runs that aren't 1-offs I believe. I have a Koji mini Bako hp that is signed 1/10 that was from lucky bags.
Ahhh, gotcha. Has anyone actually checked the feet of the painted figures? I've been wondering where all the one-offs/small LB runs are. To be fair, there are a lot of US-bound bags still in the mail that we haven't seen opened yet, but the lack of variety is a little odd.
^ I'm guessing that the variety of Zag vs. Miborah vs. Mecha Zag, and Deathra vs. Garudan vs. Conifas(3-4 variants?) has taken the place of those variations. That said we might see 1 offs, or a small run of something. The variety is still there, just not as extreme as the last few years. I was holding my breath that an unpainted brown Deathra would emerge, so I too hope for a few more surprises.
Honestly I was really impressed by this years bag. Gargamel has never done any mixed parts. Zero and it was honestly something I never thought they would do. So in addition to that they have the miborah and mecha head, garudan, brown deathra (they have only done like 5 or 6 other toys in brown) Toxic Conifas tribute paint job which all ruled and a new sculpt? I was pretty impressed. And I love the color choices for the zag. I don't think I've seen that green before or other muted colors.
I do agree the color choices (while not for me) validated the choice to go with the mixed parts trend and the last couple bags have had lots of bright and fluoro colors, so the change in colors is very reasonable.
I love how with Gargamel every bag is a winner. It might not be your first or second choice with what you get, but at least it isn't garbage!
ive been avoiding this thread until mine arrived which hasnt been easy i got stung a couple times with the sales thread but all in all i was surprised by my bag today lucked out with garudan which was the sculpt i was hoping for when i ordered id like to find one of those green walking killers still more bags to arrive out there, hope a few surprises are discovered!
As a big fan of mixed parts, it is really cool to see them give it a go this year. I didn't end up buying a bag, but it's been cool to see it all roll out.
Grats on the Garudan! That must have been exciting, opening up your bag and finding exactly what you wanted!
Welp, looks like I'm the exception to the Conifas-Miborah rule. Was stoked to see that I got a Conifas because I thought that meant I would get a Miborah or Mecha Zag, but alas, just a regular mixed Zag. No Zodiac figure or any other surprises in my bag. I'll probably let the Conifas go, and will probably try to see if someone wants to trade Zags, as mine has a pretty dark head, and I prefer the lighter colors. EDIT: Looks like I got the same bag as this, but with a regular Zag head and a different color mix:
Still looks like a good bag to me James! Even though I haven't been into the Conifas sculpt, the versions in this year's lucky bags are pretty cool.
I feel like a little b1tch posting this after James's bag, but yeah, i got this. to be honest, this was my worst case scenario bag for my taste, and after all the excitement too. As soon as i picked up the box i got nervous, like someone said before, very, very light. I can imagine it would be pretty easy to separate the Garudan from the rest. While i'm sure some of you would be stoked with this bag, i think it's pretty damn weak. To me, the mecha head being the unique highlight doesn't justify the price tag, nor does it justify pairing it with such a poorly painted Conifas. Compared to the other paint applications on the Conifas this year, this one is just...i mean, it hardly has any paint on it! and on orange vinyl no less. That said, having the sculpt in hand for the first time, i actually like it. Not sure what i'm going to do yet, I might cut my losses and try to get rid of the whole bag... ....b1tch fest over...pfft..fuk.
jesus, tell me about it. my inbox just blew up. I'm at work and will reply to everyone later, my apologies for posting this message here. i stand by what i said though
if you purchased your bag from Gargamel, i'd say any bag pull ends up being of a relatively good value. glad to see there are many takers on your bad bag, seems its still lucky. i'm picking up my bag within the next hour, i'm excited
