OMG yes, thank you, such nostalgia. It looks like he has a spotted yellow friend who I believe is what I was thinking was a robot.
^^ Yeah, my younger brother was a big fan of SuperTed . . . he had the stuffed toy which was pretty cool, had a belt and cape and everything. Spotty was his alien friend who had a jet pack . . . Bandai 1995 Gold Rush Robot. 50p at a boot-sale.
^^ He's around 6" tall . . . he's missing his weapon . . . but then nearly every toy i find is missing its weapon! Its a fun one. You can pull the lever and play the slots on his chest.
Yeah, i was wondering about that. Maybe bootlegs then? I couldn't find anything online about them. More fun vintage pin badges . . . . i think i have exhausted the sellers supply. Pretty sure i bought the last bag on Saturday. I hope not . . . . £1 a bag was pretty sweet. [
that DEVO (one of my nicknames) pin is killer, what a great find and in such good condition! super nice.
A very old one . . . Hoover advertisement figure. They were used to demonstrate the Vac. Cheap as chips at a flea-market . . . £5.
More boot-sale goodies . . . . 20p each 50p . . . rocks from side to side, like he's dancing. Bunch of little enamel badges. 25p each, Not sure who this one is . . . looks like a character from 'Little Lulu' to me.
the Devo/Jam/exploited & Dead Kennedys pins- I had the same ones bought in the USA. I wonder if they imported them? The DK ones were a little unique....maybe somebody was buying them in bulk from the UK then bringing them back here... Love the Matchbox cars you found! Great prices. There are repro boxes available if you want them, I buy mine from a guy in the UK.
Yeah, its often hard to figure out the origin or manufacturer of badges like those. When its a product promotion or a TV show / Movie related subject its much easier to figure out the age and maker. Band badges seem to get made and re-made by a myriad number of manufacturers . . . . I'm not too bothered about that, i buy these for the nostalgia factor and because i can pick them up for a few pence (and i did'nt care about the boxes when i was a kid). I do appreciate them though, i bought my dad a book on Dinky toys the other day and the photos in the book are great . . . all the cars are displayed on top of their original boxes and they do look really cool. Especially the larger pre-war display boxes for the sets. More boot-sale finds: Old erasers 25p each. The crow and frog are 'Stiletto Mafiosa' & 'Baron Silas Greenback' from the cartoon 'Danger Mouse'. The fox in the middle is 'Basil Brush' . . he was hugely famous in the UK in the 70's / 80's. Hulkster Brooch 1992 - 25p
^^ I think the seller might of had another one but it was loose. I will have another look this weekend . . . she's usually there. Ray Gun . . . still works. £1. Makes some pretty cool blaster noises and explosions, red and blue lights up at the front.
^^ If you are a British school kid into comics from now back to the 50's you cannot avoid them! They are from the 'Beano' and were created by Leo Baxendale who is one of the godfathers of British comics. 'Plug' is probably the most famous character (the one with the funny ears) . . . . I still have a few old annuals of theirs somewhere. Spider-Man coin bank promo with the original cookie box from 1991. The cookies were still sealed inside but after 24 years i'm sure you can imagine what they look like! Boot sale - £2
Bootleg Gundam 20p. Boot-sale buy. Vintage Boglin (on the left) for 50p. Coincidentally the same colour as the one i picked up in a charity shop. Dirt really clings to these things over the years, but after a good scrub and rinse they look fine . . . .
