This is just too amazing I had to carry it over to the next page. :)
What an absoutely fantastic find Anthony! Such a true piece of history, and something so great besides. I am so happy your searches paid off with you being able to track one down. I know the word 'grail' gets tossed around all the time, but wow, for this I would have no hesitation referring to it at all. I'd be incredibly proud to own one of those original mangas, and am sure you enjoy them immensely. Thank you so much for taking the time to do some hand scans of them too - I know, especially with aged paper goods, it is always a tricky endeavour, and I sincerely appreciate your willingness to share such with us. I am sure the art inside is equally amazing. Do you happen to know if they ever did reprints of these? I imagine there is, which I would be happy with as a placeholder on the shelf and to enjoy, because I am sure that not too many of the originals pop up very often at all. Congratulations again, superb comics.

Found this one in a second-hand bookshop on the weekend . . . 'Biografiktion'.

Screen-printed comics from Berlin (in English). Includes whimsical biographies of Eddie Murphy and the group ABBA.
The photos below dont do justice to the vibrant ink used . . .

    I enjoyed this a lot.

Ha, that is a great one Moog, such nice images. I guess I am showing my roots here, but I am immediately drawn to the scenes of the lumberjacks and fisherman. :)

^ I know that the first prints of the LP came the comic in real comic book form. The tape comes with instrumentals on side B.

To be honest the writing pretty crappy but it fits in with the art style and makes it an entertaining read.. it's very much 90s Image/10th grader Christmas holiday project style!

Yeah I'm not expecting anything too sophisticated based on the art style but if it's in the same realm as Prison Pit then I should be into it. Thanks!

Ha, that reminds me of a few Russ Meyer films I stumbled across in the bargain bin at one of the local shops the other day. I almost got myself to buy them. Almost.

I've been a Freak Brothers fan since i was around 14 years old. I've never even seen this one before.
Published in 1976 before 'Hassle Free Press' changed their name to 'Knockabout Comics'.
    50p at a boot-sale. Knockabout are the UK publisher of most of Gilbert Shelton's comics . . . .

Anyone else on this board a Freak Brothers fan?

The 2nd Andy Capp collection published by the Daily Mirror in 1959.
I got this for a quid at a boot-sale recently.
Its not worth a huge amount because there were so many printed, Andy and Flo were very popular.

The flick-animation at the top shows Andy downing his bottle of booze and the other way is Flo ducking under the thrown bottle.
    Alcoholism and domestic violence . . . . fair-game for comedy!

    Recent boot-sale buy for 50p.
    1975.

I loved Hanna-Barbera cartoons when i was growing up but i've never heard of 'The Funky Phantom' before or 'Motormouse and Autocat'.
This book also features Dastardly and Muttley who are my favourite HB characters . . . along with Captain Caveman, Top Cat and Wacky Races.

I always enjoy comic-strip book versions of animated shows.

Hey guys, I don't usually flog my own comics here too much, but I'm launching a new science fiction series that I think Skullbrainers will enjoy. It's very much informed by my love of Ultraman & tokusatsu heroes, plus a pinch of Macross, a dash of ROM, and a variety of other and creator influences that all make something fun and new.

Here's the solicitation copy for the just-released issue #0 :
It's available to check out in the physical realm here: http://studygroupcomics.storenvy.com/pr ... -zack-soto
and will be in next month's Diamond Comics catalog, if you'd rather get it through your local comics shop or give it a look on the racks in a few months.

    Another recent find . . . Hanna-Barbera 1959.
All comic strips, all black and white. Printed in England.

Loved HB stuff as a kid and i'm still loving it nowadays. Call me Mr. Nostalgic.

Copped the Amazing Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six TPB. Ive been waiting for that book for like 15 years.

Blades and Lasers by Ben Marra. That book is amazing, as its offset printed in dark blue a fuchsia. RIDICULOUS!

Copped Blast Furnace: Recreational Thief. Ryan Browne is always next level with the humor and considering every page of the book was written and drawing in an hour. Its pretty great. If you liked God Hates Astronauts this might be up your ally.

Weirdworld; Mike DelMundo's art is exquisite and the story is pretty great. Marvel just let them take the weird characters from the 70s and 80s and slam em together at 1000 miles an hour. good stuff. Im glad Marvel took a chance with this book and then brought it back.

Tokyo Ghost. If you like Cyber Punk and frenetic art... Look no further. this book is a sight to look at and a pleasure to read.
    Image is making' moves, man.

Monstrous - This book is gorgeous! Its on it's 3rd printing, I think. Seriously gorgeous.
