As suggested, and rightfully so, this toy definitely deserves its own thread. Personally, I kind of enjoy the reason behind its existence a little more than the actual toy itself. That isn't at all to say it isn't amazing, or that I wouldn't love to own/photograph one, of course. The painted is phenomenal, as we'd come to expect. DISCUSS!!!

Would love to see this guy in a sort of beat up gun metal. This bad boy looks like you'd fight him as a boss in Wolfenstein

Probably one of the most detailed sculpts In recent time. And executed perfectly, my mind is going nuts on all the paint app possibilities. I can only imagine all the paint ideas Rich has in store this one. I also think the overall size of the sculpt is spot on. Can't wait to see detail shots!

Man, the tubes on the canon add so much more character for me. And there's already so much with the paint app and the sculpt itself. I like the interchangeable heads, too.

Rich, the added tubes are definitely not overboard. It just shows you are a mad sofubi scientist genius willing to go that extra mile for your craft. Well done.

I read on an instagram post about some parts being center spun on their own trays.. can you explain that Rich? I've seen sometimes you can fit multiple parts on a tray.. maybe 4? Just looking at the figure it doesn't seem like there's a space issue.. I'm pretty interested to learn more about the reasons behind this.

I'm usually not into hyper detailed paint jobs but all of the well placed sprays, tiny details, and individually painted rivets look incredible.

And then the tubes for the cherry on top.

    Dang.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. Stoked you guys are digging them. I think after a good couple of test paints I'll find s good balance of detail and free sprays. Lots in the works for these astronauts.

I love that it's a mecha type. Rich has done a lot of organic type things. So seeing how awesome this looks it's a great and fresh new addition

Needless to say owning one would be rad

    whachutalkinboutwillis?

specifically the Tengu reference- how does it relate to MVH?
serious question not meant to insult not ignite in anyway...

BTW there are soo0oo many robot designs that came before the
boom of machinder type that it seems a to be moot point really

I think the point being made is that MVH designs are not very original designs.

Its obvious Rich draws a lot of inspiration from the toys he loves and collects and in some cases mixes and matches parts of existing toys into his own designs.

I don't think this is a bad thing though.

Eveyone is entitled to their opinions, whether they are true or vastly ridiculously grasping at straws

I'm making toys I want, I'm happy, the people who collect what I make are happy, that's what I'm focusing on and care about. If you don't like it, that's just fine as well, collect what makes you happy.

All toy makers have been influenced in their art, some vintage, some common, some personal.

All my toys, and this is common knowledge, are pulled from all the things I loved growing up and what I've always been in to, as well as what I collect today. I'm not just gonna pull from the past, I find new things that interest me all the time. It's pretty easy to see the influence of Toxigon, or Berserker, it's meant to be that way.

DC13 is influenced by many things, but not what's mentioned above. The over all feel I wanted it to have a cross between Mecha Godzilla and giant robots. Thermo Borg is inspired by thermonuclear warfare and cyborgs, Astro Boy, fighter jet helmets, cyberpunk, all combined in one for him or her depending on who pilots it. Same for Hyper Viper. The Hyper Viper is influenced by industrial monsters, Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, Darth Vader, high power tension lines, etc. It's a suit, the pilot controls its destiny. The suit can withstand a necular blast and fallout, hence the fall out shelter symbol on its chest.

It is pretty sad when people feel the need to try and bad talk people just because they have heavy love for other makers. Feel free to post your opinions, but to carry on and on and try to talk others into not collecting them is childish.

Be positive, collecting toys should be fun, not such a line in the sand alliance. That's just silly.

This is pretty much all I'm going to say about this. I rather not do this over and over.

    Do you think everybody's stupid?
Do you think you're not to blame for making money using someone's idea (actually copying most collected toys) with sculpt not even made by you and not even sculpted by hand?
You're trying to put this on me, but it's you who don't understand the original concept of vinyl toys.
Also, I'm not defending anyone, but Japanese toys.
