This is the guy that we're calling proto-Dom: Maybe we're wrong about the Dom part? I'm not familiar enough with the world yet. Had another look --- Some hot action from Dom's debut: Episode 25
I'm thinking Zogok: http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/msv/msm-08.htm The Prototype 1 blends elements of the Acguy (http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/msgundam/msm-04.htm) and Z'Gok (http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/msgundam/msm-07.htm). The last unidentified prototype looks like a concept for the Zaku I (http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/msgundam/ms-05b.htm).
Yeah, I think you guys have nailed the two remaining protos Jared and Daniel. That looks like what the schematic outlines probably are meant to be. Whether this is a hint toward a possible second expansion release of the line, I couldn't say for certain, nor when this might happen, but I do have to say that the implications since I saw the header were very promising. I really hope his passion for Gundam leads to more toys (or even just artwork) in the future. I am loving everything we have seen so far, as I am sure a ton of Gundamheads are in Japan as well. I wonder if his selection of the proto-mobile suits is an odd mix of licensing, a choice to execute something not done in toy form before, or just his penchant for the obscure and brilliant quirkiness. In any case, it's a passion I am happy he has been able to explore.
Oohashi-san makes toys of toys, pt. 873: Mephilas meets Mephilas 2 in meta-ecstasy. A friend sent me a great pic tonight of the finger-banger he'd just landed, so I just had to mash it up against its contemporary companion. Holy damn, toys are fun for so many different reasons! edit: Thank you, James! It was five ay em in the mourning, so...
^ a.) I should have mentioned the puppet's maker. b.) I should have scaled my own pic differently; the Buta is only slightly taller than the Osata. c.) Would its' have also been acceptable? OH, and... d.) Noticed this last night: The toys themselves, or are you just being a dick about us dorking out in public on the origins of them?
Ahh. Well that makes all the sense in the world: those little beauties are total magnets; wallets have been know to burn up on re-entry.
Yes². An adorable piece of vinyl. Butanohana really did this character justice, and he immediately went up to the upper echelons of the lists for best Butanohana toys. I am so happy you were able to finally score one of them, I know how hard the chase can be, and I cannot think of a person here that should have one more. Great photo and wondrous toy. Congratulations!! (now I just have to book a train ticket to come over and play with him)
Thanks Ultra ! I still don't understand why I didn't order when it first came out... (and you are welcome to come over here whenever you can/want)
Hmmmm it really can go either way but I'm putting my money on Satan King over Shugaron. We need more Spectreman!
^ Yeah, I think you are right. There is definitely not enough there to be clear either way. While my initial impression might lean towards the former, I think it much more likely actually to be Satan King, keeping in line with his recent focus on making new sculpts for Spectreman. Mind you, I have absolutely no problem at all with him getting to other Ultra sculpts, there are still plenty yet unrealised in vinyl form I would love to see him give his magic sculpting touch to.
Both your guesses could be right David. Spectreman releases seem to follow each others so SK might be a good guess. Don't know if it's vinyl or wax, but the color looks like SK's. But the "bubble" details seem a bit big compared to the size of the head and would suit Shugaron better. Wait and see.
Yeah, 'prolly will be Satan King. Maybe the Tsubu balance will be restored by some joy on the Namegon tease from forever ago... The pic, from '10, seems to have been excised from the blog. As ever.
Nay all of you Satan King lovers! This toy collector wants Shugaron more than anything! One of my favorite all time characters.
I'm voting for Shugaron too. The head bulbs are the right size and the weird neck line looks more appropriate. I can't claim to be familiar with either of these guys' story arcs, but that busted eye on Shugaron is pretty compelling in toy form.
Just received the latest Dustman and saw the Spectreman header for the first time. Since they are on the header, does this mean a butanohana version of Dr. Gori and Norman? Hope springs eternal!
