Preorder delay = no second Goga for me. Will be nice to put this one under the Christmas tree if it makes it by then.
I got a delay of two weeks on the green goga and a shipment notice for the blue goga, so it appears only the green gogas are delayed... Ive seen pictures of blue gogas landing in japan already on instagram...
Does this mean a Medicom Drunk Boy is coming?!?! That would be a dream come true. (And then to start dreaming of a Hazard release! )
With this rate of releases, I think we can expect a Medicom version of just about everything in the Anraku stable. Fingers crossed for black or green Drunk Boy! I like the direction they went with the Gogas much more than with the giant Dako. Here's hoping they don't just throw a little extra paint on an existing drunk boy vinyl color/colorway and call it a day like they did with the Dako.
I think after you've made so many toys, looking back on your body of work. It is easy to say, I would have done this differently, or I like this so much, I wish I could redo it for more people. To us, it may seem lazy, or repetitive. But to Anraku it could be the answer to years of reflection.
This particular pic looks good but the close up pics I've been seeing shows otherwise. Its weird, the Goga sculpt doesn't take metallic well. The texture- especially on the wings/arms makes the metallic paint look overspray and thick. The other AA sculpts take metallic paint really well, though. But the colors on the Goga ranks among the best!
I can't tell if that's because of the lighting. Do you think we'll be seeing any of the dye'd technique on the figures? I always felt that was one of the details that really made Anrakus figures stand out, but think it might be too haphazard for quality control on open runs.
I'm so excited that I ordered the Blue, love the way it shines! It would be pretty cool to see how they're doing this behind the scenes. Seems at this point that you're going to be able to build a complete Anraku collection by the end of this partnership.
Oh, those dyed versions! Yeah, I don't think they will be done again, ever! Heard that its downright hazardous with the fumes and heat!
This latest batch is more like it. Glad I decided to pass on the last lot, I'll need that $$ when January rolls around.
I love mescalgone color painting ... I think that the other new toys are painted with opaque colors too, I would prefer glossy.
I can totally see this and respect this viewpoint, my opinion was purely selfish based on my own collection wants.
I have wondered this myself, but since I know of no other maker that has dyed the vinyl in this way I always figured it was a no-go for preorders. I always figured we'd see other makers trying it out, at least on a limited basis, if it were an easy process. Anybody else have any info on the dyeing process? I've been wanting to learn more about it for a long time. Thanks for the info kurumonz.
Huh. I remember reading that the dying came about because of his concerns over the health hazards that arise with airbrusing... Wish I could cite the article, but I've no clue where I found it now.
Digging the Nue and Mescalgon. Money's too tight for now but we'll see how it is in January. Nue is like a Tiger Baby!
