No reflection on you Paul I was always worried to warm him up - heating and flexing painted surfaces sometimes scares me that paint may flake off!
Folks should try the blow dryer trick on the new ones...now that I think about it I have hit a couple of Goga tails with a blow dryer when they arrived to make them fit better. Then I promptly forgot, because it's a common issue across many toys. Have had to do the same thing to some Longneck, giant M1's, etc, etc. Get that dryer out and you work that vinyl, Gurl!
I understand. Most PK Gogas have passed hands so many times it was bound to happen. I used Vcolor so the paint will flex with the vinyl.Should be fixable with no problem. That tail joint design wasn't necessarily the best. I was actually very close to gluing them all in. Too bad it wasn't redesigned before Medicom releases.
Just went to YJA and saw that. Hmm so hopefully that mini set will arrive soon. Wonder if CJ Mart sends EMS tracking via email? I'm never convinced it's coming till I get that
Ha, I'm in the same boat Chris. Ordered that batch from CJ Mart as well, and hours before the cutoff at that. The ordering process through them sure is easy, hoping they will come through with the goodies. I have placed all my preorders with them since the Dako drop.
I did as well. Can't wait, the pics I've seen online haven't really been that great in the "showing off the new toys" dept so I really want them in-hand.
Finally got my Goga. First time ever seeing one in person. It's huge and fun, just like in all of the pictures I've been staring at for years. I will need to take a blow dryer to the arms, legs and tail. The painting is not spot on, there are some sprays missing here and there. I got the blue with metallic. The metallic paint pools and drips here and there, which I'm not sure is professional (could be wrong!). All in all, makes me want an older Goga more than ever.
Just in a few places. It's like they were too heavy with the metallics in some places and too light with them in others.
Didn't intend to scare you, it's still a great piece of work. It's just that the quality difference is apparent, which is something I think a lot of people were wondering about. I have a Dako coming too, as well as other medi/anraku collabs that I'm excited to be receiving.
I kind of just accepted early on that these big preorders were not going to be able to match up to AA's personal touch...most of Anraku's original runs were modestly sized at best and often tiny. So it really is comparing apples and oranges. With the pics I've seen so far I've been pleasantly surprised.
I got the green Goga and the paint work looks really good on mine. I don't own any originals to compare it to, but for such a mass release Im quite impressed .
Can't find any issues with mine either (also green). I feel for those of you who ended up with displeasing results. Such high hopes for these releases. There's certainly not the same discerning eye as before though. There just can't be when an artist has to turn over so much of the responsibilities, and to a company that already has SO many.
Both of the ones I received were issue-free. Only the green version was opened. Couldn't take my eyes off of it.
Agree...The quality control is pretty good on the two I got. That's pretty good considering the price is about the same even though a third party is involved. I don't have the space or money to collect every release and will probably just go for the sculpts I don't have.
My green is pretty gogalicious. No issues here. One thing though, he's noticeably drab compared to all the pictures I saw before receiving him. Is everyone messing with their photos too much?
My gogas are fine so im definitely goin for a venus.. So happy to be able to get one at a semi reasonable price
