The North Side Kings are awesome and their music is fantastic. I also think the same of Danzig and each project he's done. I just happen to love the shirt that came out of an incident involving the two.
So, I guess this is peripherally Danzig related, at any rate I didn't know where to put it and didn't think it warranted it's own thread. So here it is, another money-grab by the new-fits. It kind of saddens me, if nothing else. Wish I could be into it, but that's just not the way it is. necaonline.com/48492/products/toys/plush-and-dolls/misfits-8-clothed-figure-the-fiend-assortment/ The neca server was out of comish last I checked, so you may not be able to check that site right away.
Now do bands just sell there name/image and the company can put out anything they want? I used to see weird shit with like Bob Marley and AC/DC names and faces at Spencers. Do they ok each stupid product?
Interesting question. Not a complete answer, but here's an interesting piece on the marketing of Marley. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... =101674745
I know for a fact that NECA has or had the rights to that. I interviewed for a job there a few years back, and worked on some Bob Marley shit that went unused
Thanks for the info. I remember seeing Misfits notebooks and ashtrays when that stuff first started popping up and thinking what is this crap?
Glenn to make a guest appearance on Portlandia! It took me a while to realize that this wasn't photoshopped.
Man...I know the dude's not perfect but his cover of the Everly Brothers' Crying in the Rain is pretty cool. Just sayin'...he can still sing great rock'n'roll songs. I don't love the whole Skeletons album or anything but I won't lie...I do like his interpretation of that song. At the very least, it shows he's got some level of taste when it comes to rock music.
^^ I like the album. It gets ripped apart but I enjoyed it. I look forward to his all Elvis covers album.
Anyone else make it to Chicago last nite? Show was kinda predictable but they sounded good together. I liked the background stuff projected on the screens. I did not like the lights used, still seeing tracers. Sad they did not play "American Nightmare"
Caught them in Denver. Also thought they sounded great, and enjoyed the backdrops specific to each song. Found Danzig's stage talk fantastically horrible. Did they have the giant jack-o-lanterns? He was talking about how his neighbors complain, but he doesn't care. Song we didn't get in Denver that I wanted was Angelfuck.
They blew my mind in Denver, its something that I never believed would happen so they made my my middle school dreams come true. They played my favorite, Skulls, plus Where Eagles Dare which was unexpected! His banter was pretty lame, especially all the fucks after fucks. But seeing Danzig, Jerry, and Doyle having fun with each other onstage gives me hope that they will do an actual tour someday!
I'm sure everyone has already seen this, but I enjoy all of the covers so far. I hope their latest kickstarter goes through, I really want this LP
