Spoiler What I couldn't understand is where did he get the guts to play hardball with Maggie when he has no ammo or fighters and already let someone else beat a kid to death and take half of everything they have on a regular basis? Like wouldn't that make him even less capable of negotiating with other groups? Plus the new camp doesn't make a lot of sense anyway. At least Alexandria was explained as a high end experimental community with self-sustaining solar power and water supplies and whatever. The new place just looks like some trailers and a mansion(somehow perfectly preserved)and everyone is clean cut with fancy hair styles like they just left the mall. Hell they still have a working ultrasound machine and power to run it but they have no fighters or bullets yet they can still scavenge supplies?
Yeah I don't get how most of these 'friendly' groups Team Rick finds happen to first survive the ongoing zombie apocalypse- then marauders after that. Makes zero sense to me.They all look like white suburbanites that just stepped out of friggin Outback steakhouse. No one looks rugged or like they've been through hell. Even Jesus looks pretty manicured. They're always so scared and helpless as well which is a huge plot hole and adds to the continued cookie cutter character formulas- bad guys are over the top, everyone else is defenseless, and Rick & Co. save everyone.
Yup. In the walking dead you find either good people who are weak or bad people who are strong. No one but the main cast can exist in the middle. And it's always disappointing to see new people who seem like the end of the world had no effect on them at all.
Yes! They just need to pull a rope across the street for the next bunch of Negan's bikers to drive into and maybe a building something montage. Problem solved!
Considering the smear yourself in the dead trick why not just take a vehicle and strap on the dead to every square inch except a little bit of front window? A deadmobile. I know they are attracted to movement and noise but if you get mobbed you just stop and maybe the other dead would be bored and confused by all the outwardly facing, going nowhere "argh" machines.
Spoiler that episode started off slow, but Id have to say the end half was pretty damn entertaining! WD needs more heists!
Spoiler I just have to start remembering to fast forward to the actual action that moves the show. I.E the last 15 minutes- that way i can enjoy it. Otherwise it's a snooze fest of retarded dialogue one on ones that go nowhere btw characters. I'm all for dialogue that works but it hasn't in about 3 seasons on this show. I mean why did Rick even bother having that meeting to ask if there was anyone that thinks they should not kill? He does his meaningful look and hand to the air gesture that he always does, knowing full well Morgan is going to dissent
FN must be paying for promotional time... there was a lingering shot of the FS2000 on the wall in the armory & out of every rifle there, Glen picked the FAL
Spoiler Also- can the writers foreshadow any harder on Glenn's fate? The death fake outs etc, now he's checking out Polaroids of Negan's handy work with that bat on a wall? Maggie's capture pretty much assures his death as you know everyone is going to lay down their arms in an attempt to get her back- cue Negan's entrance with a baseball bat. Unless it's a fake out and Daryl or Abraham get it- although I'd be shocked if they had the balls to kill Daryl. If they use Abraham and Glenn and Daryl both live it will be so obvious certain people will never die.
Spoiler Abraham's death also seems heavily foreshadowed. juggling a bunch of stuff like having a child etc. He seems poised to be killed off. Doubt they would kill Glenn though, even if he is destined to die in the comics.
Actually this makes me probably happier than the show each week: http://www.atlantamagazine.com/news-cul ... rs-begins/
Haha good read, the "rick-o-meter" was a nice touch. Spoiler the article made me think of something that bugged me during last nights episode, do these saviors take nyquil to sleep every night or are they so high they dont hear people coming into their rooms?!
rick grimes-crazy-o-meter is my favorite part! Yeah i think the Saviors drink Nyquil, booze, pop a few oxy, and then shoot up heroin before bed time. Were they in comas? I mean it was just short of having normal volume conversations in well lit rooms when they were stabbing them in their heads (another pet peeve of mine- go touch your forehead- even a sharp knife ain't going through that like butter!)
^ I think that they were going through the eye socket, FWIW. Reminds me of the breakdowns that this one Onion commentor used to do for Dexter: https://disqus.com/home/discussion/avcl ... le_102111/ His uniformly hilarious efforts were the only reason that I was able to make it through to the end.
Spoiler Carol having feelings again melting back into a shrinking violet????! WTF that's the wrong approach writers. I really hate self reflective episodes because these schmuck writers always slow it down at the worst times just to stretch out a poorly written season!
I took it that she was 'becoming someone else' to throw off the captors, while (possibly) rediscovering her faith. She's definitely starting to feel remorse at lives she's taken, but I'm not so sure she's gone all soft on us. Not yet, anyway. Does this need a spoiler tag?
Oh I got it was part act to throw off the Saviors but didn't like that in the end it wasn't so much an act as remorse. I like hardened never going back to soft Carol.
pistol + shot once in the arm by Carol = dead from loss of blood, even with tourniquet applied rifle + hit with full auto burst by Rosita = knocked off your bike but no serious wound
Yeah, the logic on the show is always a bit wonky, which really bothers me. Lazy writing, and taking the audience's intelligence for granted are HUGE pet peeves for me.
