Does anyone know what this guy's name is. He's from the zag family, but he has a horn in the middle of his forehead.

It looks like a Space Kaiju Bagun by Siccaluna Koubou to me . . .

It's not a zagoran. (They don't have wings.)

The target earth version on that first thread is quite beautiful. How high does it stand? The version I posted is 3"standing. I like the blue teeth and reddish eye combo, but the overall silver paint, obviously over a different color vinyl just doesn't cut it. In fact the teeth should have been painted separately from the mouth. Rush job.

I confess my knowledge was mainly down to owning 'An Encyclopedia of Kaiju'. Published in 2010. That figure looked familiar, and I remembered where I'd seen it.

Super7 really knocked it out of the park with that one. Its beautifully printed and really well presented graphically. Totally worth tracking down.

I actually had the book. Got it from the Super7 store in St. Pete FL during its brief life here. When I needed the money, I tried to sell it on SB, but no one wanted it, so I put it on the Bay. Looking through my own toys, I notice that I have a Deathra painted by Koji Harmon which is almost like a Bagun, except no horn in its head. And it stands upright, not crouched over like the Bagun Here it is :

Your mini is actually Bagun 1, not 2. (1 has nostrils, 2 does not.)

The standard size Target Earth toy of Bagun 1 is about 9-10" tall. I don't have it in front of me to measure, but it is standard size. Pretty bulky, especially due to the wings.

I'm pretty sure Deathra is 'inspired by' Bagun 1. Most of Gargamel's Zokki Kaiju toys were derived from the Sekai no Kaiju designs (Bagun, Zagora, Mighty, etc.)

Do you have an opinion on which were the better produced toys? Or are there too many toys and variables to compare?

It depends on your stylistic preference. Gargamel's toys are more steamlined and stylized. Target Earth's Bagun 1 and Shikaruna/Siccaluna's Sekai no Kaiju toys are much more accurate to the source material, and are probably as close to licensed figures as you will get.

In terms of production quality, I think they are all on par with each other.
