@ultrakaiju Yes that is a wee Telesudon, and Ghostron - part of a fantastic tiny kaiju series released in the 70's by Bullmark !
Love the little yamanaya big eye Scott. Its definitely not me haha. Im a strong third I think. Pretty sure Flynn has us both beat. I tried to win that King Monster mini figure the other day but its not cheap now.
Vintage Mail Days are always great, but there's certain ones that are really special, and for me, this is a real stand out! Original Marusan King Kong (Giant Gorilla) as mint as you can get him!
Holy crap! So it's actually part of the same line as the Marusan dinos. Huh. Interesting that Marusan later repurposed it for the original kaiju reissues.
Whoa,, incredible score! Nothing quite as nice here. Common, but classic. Very happy to have these join my shelves
Just amazing, great score! Love the metallic blue of the body and the art in the header card. Thank´s for sharing, you don´t see all days pieces like this in the original package.
It is amazing to see that Giant Gorilla packaged, looking brand new. Thanks for sharing the pics. I like how, not only is "Kong" unlicensed, but to add insult to injury, it's header says 20th Century Fox!
Wow Alex!!! That is an absolutely incredible mail day. OG Marusan Kong giant gorilla is such an amazing find, but packaged all up and minty fresh is blowing my mind. What a truly impressive score. So nice to see this original header from the dino line (and like Paul said, I immediately noticed the 'Fox' mention too, ha!) The colours are something, I love the sculpt anyway as much as any I can name, but seeing him in that fresh blue is so wonderful. I don't even know how you could manage to not hold this in the hand 24h a day, in order to actually have a break for a photo! Many, many heartfelt congratulations on landing that fella. A true grail-worthy purchase if ever there was one. Thanks for sharing! Absolutely nothing to sniff at there @gazpacho! A very impressive lineup of two key licenses. I am so happy to see people build up vintage collections with these fellas, as too often the more 'common' guys are taken for granted. Very nice photo backdrop too.
Woah amazing score Alex. Its cool to see the OG header card. Very little reference exists of these MIB. The reason it says 20th century fox is they were released for the 60s movie "One million years BC". Guessing this was just a way to sell a Kong figure and deny thats what it is. I dont even think there is a giant gorilla in that movie
Very cool finds all around...that OG Marusan Giant Gorilla bagged is something you do not see every day.
Great ape, and wonderful to see him so mint! also very cool Bullmarks @gazpacho and I love that Nikko Kanegon pendant, could almost be a Buta.
Holy crap, AWM! What a find. Not only a difficult to find piece, but a bagged specimen too. Crazy. I don't recall seeing printing on vintage bags before either. I always assumed that M1Go started that, but then again, much of their packaging is done in an homage. Nice, gazpacho. Can't go wrong with the classics. Looks like a pretty nice Kanegon! (Sorry - I am a little late to the game. Life took over, and hobbies took a back seat. Haven't been able to frequent the boards in a while. Hope I did not miss much!)
Thank you guys for all the comments on my Marusan Kong (Giant Gorilla) While I don't own any other bagged Marusan figures, I know on the back of the Godzilla Toy Museum Book that there is a bagged Marusan Mothra pictured that has printing on the bag as well, so M-1 was definitely doing it out of homage to the original packaging. While not as exciting as my last mail day, I did add a dark blue Bullmark Gigan (right) to the collection.
Nice acquisition! I like the pair of them in fact. There was another darker fella that just recently passed through the 'bay for a decent price too, but I was not actively in on that one. Not sure if he will pop up here eventually or not.
Haha, what? Do we have another Grace on our hands to deal with? (completely kidding, those are phenomenal!) Congratulations on a great set of twins, Roger.
Yesterdays mail. Light grey light painted blue version. The photos I took made the blue and grey vinyl look slightly darker than they should be. The outer was deep crusted in dirt which I washed. Disassemble today for a good washing for the interior. Those black spots are just dirt/mold which washed away.
Marvelous Anthony ! super colours, I love it when you get a toy with a patina of grime ... its very satisfying to me to bring it back to a clean state
Congrats Anthony! Very nice looking light blue Mechanikong. I love that sculpt, and the light blue version is especially nice. Thanks for sharing the pics.
