Pushead & Friends' Hyperstoic Returns (2016)

For those that weren't able to attend Hyperstoic Returns this year, I just post a photo recap of the event… Mainly focused on the toy works, likes Pushead's various pieces and Wed Benscoter's Horns-Up Horror figures.

Interesting to finally see a retail price for the Sours!! $125 ain't bad

 

Considering most of them were hand-poured and/or hand-painted by Pushead, nope… not at all!

 

Much better than $500 approx for basic two coloured pours over at that other place...

 

Hand paints were not $125.

 

The bottom shelf, unpainted were $125, which is still decent.

The handpaints were more, for obvious reasons.

All were incredible!

The Siamese Orms were amazing too.

You're right. For some reason I recalled one of the bottom shelf editions have hand-painted tooth details, but they don't.

 

More like $700 for HPs is what ive been told

The blanks over at M stores cost around that price point

 

If you support those shenanigans you deserve to be bent over!

 

In all honesty, Pus has a closed list so how are people supposed to get them any other way ?

Personally I wouldn't pay it.

For many people his sales method forces these flippings and sales to happen. If he wanted people to be able to buy them for retail he'd make at least a few available or have medicom handle some sales the way they do for Anraku.

 

I'm pretty sure all of the sours have just been event exclusives so far.
so it's more just a matter of being able to attend the event than anything else... just happens to be that most of the events have been in japan, hence m-world/mandarake/yja being the places people in the US see them come up for sale/resale.

 

I put my success down to my charm, wit and boyish good looks!

 

The pink from Hyperstoic Returns to me, is one of the best, if not the best release to date. that thing simply POPS

 

Totally agree. That marbled color was unworldly. It was sold out by the time I got to the counter unfortunately, but I did alright.

I want more vinyls in that color.

Also, here's my photo album from the show. Nothing too spectacular. I honestly just hopped on line when I got inside and took some pictures after. By the time I got back to the case, a lot of the bottom shelf items (i.e. unpainted vinyls) were sold out/removed.

Funny I've been wanting to make this for a long time.

 

Well that explains it, my lack of charm wit and monstrous looks have keep me from collecting all these years !

 

Always loved that design.

Disney actually made one this year and it doubles as a mug plus the white part glows in the dark.

 

The photos look great, I'm really new to the Pushead toys but have a long standing relationship with Rebel Ink so the progression to Rebel Capain made sense.
As soon as I got 1 pirate I had to have more the design & sculpt is just incredible paired with SB quality just make them the perfect toy.
Struggling find some pieces on the aftermarket without paying silly prices so am considering a weekend in NY next year if theres another Hyperstoic show.

Here's my Pushead shelf so far after 3 weeks.

No event at Toy Tokyo this year? Guess that leaves more goodies for DCON
