Anyone manage to get the new rainbow Massive Attack robot that recently came out? Got a confirmation email on mine. So in a few weeks when he pops up ill post him. Also Medicom has a figure up of a boy and a dog on there website from Mirock as well. I actually kind of like the design. Its simple and cartoony but still pretty cool.
^ That's Nero & Patrasche from A Dog of Flanders. I love how Mirock consistently makes such super clean lines on the sculpt. Also really nice how he went for a separate pull on the hat instead of risking sloppy paint.
I really want that Buddha. Was a little surprised/disappointed by the size of massive attack, I imagined him much bigger
I just got the results by email, won! @taviq Yes same for me, I realize its actual size when I saw it beside the other.
The size initially left me with a little something to be desired, but after handling and looking em over, I think that they're best suited at these smaller statures. Mirock does very intricate and beautifully detailed sculpts that can be appreciated more at smaller sizes. Although Massive Attack, for example, would be nice as a larger figure, it wouldn't be as impressive and I think most of the detail would be overlooked. It's part of Mirock's aesthetic and one of the things that I find appealing about the toys.
I have had the worst luck on the lottery for those Buddhas, I'm 0-5? 0-4? now. I'm down to buying off y!J, because I am still bummed I missed out on the yellow version, loved that one! One day hah
that yellow one is great, I think i like the blue on the most. I see them on ebay frequently these days. Always about 200 bucks. I just scored the antique version, and I love it.
Why do these toys look so great in medium size groups? I know that SBrain doesn't really do dioramas, but a Mirock action set spread might be pretty cool!
Possibly a new sculpt hes working on? This just got posted on Instagram. Reminds me of this Honestly im excited if he is going this kind of route. Alot of his work already reminds me already of different Buddhist and Indian mythology and religion fussed with mech.
He posted another picture with the head flipped, or possibly a different head all together. I'm stoked to see this one as I am a sucker for multi-armed figures. The Karugaru sculpt is like getting two figures in one, so much attention to detail.
It has tri faces! The blanks are gorgeous to look at. These things are going to be crazy good painted to. Never disappointed with this guy!
I only have a handful of his toys. I honestly tried to just sticking to the Massive Attack but i think he might have retired that toy. I haven't seen any new ones except for the D'con one appear last year. So i branched out into a few of the other original toys he offers.
Those toys are so wonderful to look at. I hesitated on pulling the trigger at the Sour Lemon booth at DCON and have regretted it ever since.. lol.. My wallet thanks me though..
I believe he just released or in the process of releasing a larger Massive Attack. The sculpt is so badass
