    Very very rare man!

They had a breif UK license on Smurfs

Heard Gargamel and Papa exit too
    would not doubt others exist.......

If you ever find a Golliwog by Combex
I have been after one for 20 years now

You always find the best oddstuff. I just
want to visit the UK to shop with Joe.

Yeah, i've never seen any other Combex Smurfs so i figured they must be unusual . . .
I used to see the Combex Golli on ebay quite often, but it was usually in poor condition.
I haven't seen any for ages, though. Possibly because people are stopped from trying
to sell un-PC stuff on the bay, maybe?

He's cool. It looks like a modern toy based on an old classic comics character . . .
Do you know who the character is? He looks familiar.

    1990's version of Sluggo:

    Darkhorse made them:

Was let down by the likeness and think they fall short but they are what they are

They made some nice vintage looking Flash Gordon and Phantom items

    The 1950's dolls are fantastic:

Always loved the spot on human nature of old cartoon characters:

He's Sluggo from the Nancy/Nancy and Sluggo comics.

Yep, looks like a modern version of Sluggo, from the comic strip Little Lulu. Pretty cool find.

Oops, beat to the punch, and i stand corrected. Not Little Lulu, but Nancy.

Probably mate, I can't think of a particular one right now. I was riding home from work after making that comment and Nancy popped into my head. My brain said 'Slugger' so I was close. I don't have any reprints of Nancy so it took me a while . . . I think I prefer Little Lulu.

Noddy and his car. Vintage squeaker, pretty old this one. Made in Ireland.

Wow, I love everything about this sculpt. It's as if nothing changed in the transition from the drawing table!

Yeah, its an unusual one. The car has a weird squared-off underside.
Design choice or something to do with the molding etc? Hard to say . . . .

Little '80s guys. Not sure if the two sets are related but they're both unmarked and similar style/vinyl.

They're all historical/pseudo-historical figures (but I can't remember who most of them are...)

By popular demand - they're from the 1969 anime, which was worked on by Otsuka Yasuo (Lupin) and a young Miyazaki Hayao. I'm missing Little My and Snufkin :(

And while I'm here, here's the flocked vinyl crew.

^^ Love the Moomins, thanks for sharing!

Here's a recent one i found in a charity shop. Burger King 'Orangey Tangs' (McVities 2000).
There is a pullback car from this promotion i will be looking for now, as well . . .

    BOKO the Clown
    Vintage money box by Combex
Made in England (9.5" high) probably 1950's

He came bagged with a header card but the bag was so old
and cracked that inside the bag he was covered in black dust.

Quite a rare Combex toy this one. I love it.
I would imagine the squeaker hole was plugged at the factory and he was always intended
to be a bath toy. I've tested him and he floats very well :)

I still cannot make-out what the sculpt is called in the old catalogue scan. It's too low-res.
Can anyone read what the name is?

Glad you all like the Moomins. I feel duty bound to share Snufkin's theme song, too. The old cartoon is really good.

    Speedboat Fxxxxxx (Floater? Figure?)

If you know the names of the others could probably piece it together... Made my eyes ache slightly now, hah.

Hey, thanks. I think you are right about that. I was thinking the second word was express so maybe
'Speedboat Express' or something like that - but it does look like the second word starts with an 'F'.

In that case, i think you are correct about 'Floater', too. Cheers!

No worries! Not too confident floater is right though...

Thanks for sharing the shot of your Moomin shelf @kappa. A great collection indeed.

Love the floater @The Moog, your Combex/squeaker collection has been coming along incredibly the last couple years it seems. Are you running out of space in your place yet?

Haha, not quite. Between the toys and books it is getting a little silly. I just love cool stuff, what can I say . . .
