Yeah, I've been thinking that lately. I still enjoy the pod but I prefer when he tells stories about his past or rambles on about Aztecs etc. I will have to buy the book at some point . .

"Your Mom's House podcast" is my favorite for laughs. It's Tom Segura and his comedian wife mostly playing crazy clips and interviewing their own family members about farts and other important things.
"That's deep bro" is a humorous philosophy podcast also from Seguras wife Christina. ( Really great )
Also for funny podcasts "the church of what's happening now" is Joey Diaz podcast, Crazy and hilarious. Also"comedy bang bang" has great guest's regularly.

Other informative type Pods I Love.
    Radiolab! One of the best.
Hardcore history, long but so great for history buffs.

Dave Smith's "part of the problem" has become a regular listen of mine, libertarians podcast, great insight.

I am a podcast nut for sure, "the Joe Rogan experience" is also a weekly listen for me. He can be a tool but has the best guests in the game.

Tanis and The Black Tapes are both PNWS podcasts and they are AMAZING - kind of lean towards horror/sci-fi. I can't recommend them more! My two fave podcasts out there.

Limetown is good and is in a similar genre and there's one full season but it has been on hiatus since like December of last year :(

    Murder/Crime Podcasts:

    - Sword & Scale (can be pretty horrific in some eps, not for the faint of heart)
    - Criminal (LOVE)
    - Crimetown (new, really good so far)

Stranglers is new, it's ok-ish, about the Boston Strangler.

Other fun ones I think are great are Reply All (really love this one), Surprisingly Awesome, Undone, Sawbones, and Oh No Ross & Carrie.

If I feel like assaulting/deadening my brain, I'll listen to My Brother, My Brother & Me for 30 minutes before I can't take it anymore

I never realised so many comedians have their own podcast. Will need to look into those.

I've been binging these horror and exploitation movie podcasts.

(Both are basically the same show but they changed the name when they changed platforms.)

Oh, man! So many great suggestions in here. I've downloaded a few new podcasts to try out.

If I had to recommend just one podcast that I listen to, it would be 99% Invisible. It's all about the hidden stories of the objects and things that surround our lives. The episodes are fairly short. I've found that most podcasts on the Radiotopia network are pretty good.

Also, on a different note, what does everyone use for downloading and listening to podcasts? I was using Overcast on iOS but I just switched to Android and now I'm using Podcast Addict which seems full-featured but is a bit cumbersome to navigate.

I've been using Podkicker Pro on Android for a few years. I'm pretty happy with it, and it works well with my car stereo via Bluetooth. There is a free version to try out, but it's worth a couple bucks.

I love Jim Sterling, so here are a couple of his ripping 'casts:

The Dismal Jesters, for absurd humor featuring video games and pop culture. Featuring the extremely tolerant Jonathan Holmes, and the understated Conrad Zimmerman.
    https://archive.org/details/DismalJesters

FistShark Marketing. The post-Holmes podcast that would not be named "The Dismal Jesters" still featuring Conrad Zimmerman!
    http://fistshark.com/

Podquisition, for video gaming related content, although not exclusively games. Featuring Gavin Dunne, and Laura Kate.
    http://www.thejimquisition.com/category/podquisition/

All of the above should be presumed to be of an R-rated nature, and possibly NSFW!

The "Marsham Toy Hour" Podcast is "a weekly round table discussion of the designer toy scene with your hosts Gary Ham, George Gaspar, and Carlos East"
Yes these guys talk about all kinds of designer toys and have a somewhat limited knowledge pertaining to Japanese soft vinyl but the podcast is well done, funny, not too long and they have had some great guests like Don "DATADUB" Kratzer ( episode 39 )
They are producers, sculptors and have interesting insight into the toy world IMO.

Also Gary announced that Paul Kaiju will soon be a guest.

I honestly really like the Marsham Toy Hour. Seldom do they discuss sofubi, but I think it's a great way to start breaking into that particular subject with tons of room for conversational expansion. The recent addition of Carlos East to the podcast has been a huge plus for what I already consider a super fun podcast.

Speaking to Gary tonight at the Lulubell Ichi show, he informed the episode with Mr. Copeland will be available for listening this Monday!

Datadub on a podcast? I'm sold, thanks for the heads up!

BTW, if anyone wants to hear Mark Hamill do spot-on and very funny impressions of Harrison Ford, check out the recent Nerdist podcast. Hamill goes deep into his nerd roots. Pretty cool episode . . .

Singularity 1 on 1 by Socrates
(aka Nikola Danaylov, an Hungarian Canadian)
Great if you like to hear an interview that is really a conversation. As it evolves he teases out the ideas that make these interesting men and ladies tick. As opposed to the myriad of surface scratchings we call interviews these days. He has interviewed 100s of interesting people from Kurzweil to Chomsky to Vitalik Buterin. It started out loosely based around the idea of a future "singularity" but encompasses much more. Quality in my book. Recorded for YouTube aswell as podcast but personally I like to just listen. https://www.singularityweblog.com/category/podcasts/

    Edited for my appalling grammar.

Have any of you started listening to The S-Town Podcast yet?
If you like This American Life and/or the Criminal podcast or Serial, S-Town will be right up your alley!

    Other podcasts I listen to:

    Criminal (True crime podcast)
    This American Life
The POPaganda POPcast (Ron English's podcast)
    Serial
Boiler Room (Wicked DJ sets from the infamous Boiler Room)
    The Joe Rogan Experience
Resident Advisor podcast (More DJ sets)
    Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
    Radiolab
Hospital Records podcast (Even more DJ sets...)

I don't listen to it regularly however the Point of Inquiry podcast had an episode where they dissected the war on drugs, the falsehoods of addiction and showed how things would be much different today if some different choices were made a century ago here in the US. It's literally one of the best podcasts I have ever heard. Here's the link: http://www.pointofinquiry.org/johann_hari_the_falsehoods_of_addiction_and_the_war_on_drugs/

If any of you decide to check any of these out, I'd love to know what you think!

Anyone listen to 'How Did This Get Made?'?
It's best if you've seen the movie being discussed, but still works even if you haven't, surprisingly.

I recommend the 'Teen Witch' episode, and the latest 'Garbage Pail Kids' one is soo on. haha

Really glad I found 'We'll see you in hell' podcast with Joe DeRosa and Patrick Walsh
Pretty much just them boozin' a little and doing quick reviews of movies they watched recently,
plus the episode specific one at the end. All keeping within the horror/sci-fi/fantasy theme.
Ol' Joey Roses is one of my favorite comedians and these two have a great dynamic together.

Yeah mate, I love that pod. Been listening for a while and gone back through all the episodes. I think Joe mentioned it on one of the Uninformed episodes he does with Bill Burr, so that's how I heard about it.

Bill was always winding Joe up and making fun of him, where as Pat has more similar interests to Joe, so they get along better (they still argue a lot but are more evenly matched). Just two nerdy and funny curmudgeons shooting the shit!

And recently my brother has got me into true crime pods. I started with the 'Up and Vanished' seasons which are good but one pod that really grabbed me was 'Bear Brook'. Apart from being a really creepy unsolved murder case the stuff about isotope testing was absolutely fascinating.
