My word @poysntixels that is such a gorgeous - and incredibly impressive - shelf. The sheer variety in sculpts and colours is so pleasing. I will never tire of admiring all toys OMB has put his hands to. You have done excellent work on the collection rebuild. Now stop, and give the rest of us a try!! ^_^

Great pic, Manny! I don't blame him at all for that gleeful grin when he is out having adventures in the wild.

eh, I'm taking a rest. Got 3 relatively low cost non-rares last week, 1 very small item to come and hopefully a children's book. After all this, I'm sticking to the want list and will have to sell plasma for about 18 months to get a shot at the big spaceman which will be gone by then. I love all this, but I need a macro lens. Well, maybe an exception or two or some really odd keshi... I have no will. But I am laying back and not upping any bids for a while. So all you young people go out and win one for the Gipper! Or the shelves...

Thanks just playing around with the new camera and post production programs still. I find at least my toys will sit still for a good shot! I previously hated photos for mac because I thought they did away with highlights/shadows etc but recently had to switch back because my old iPhoto did not support importing RAW images. Well my dumb ass finally found those feature in a drop down menu I did not know exisited (leave it to Apple to change things around so they are hard to find). Also having fun with Affinity (bought that because I hate how Adobe Lightroom is only 'rentable') but honestly as complex as the program is I don't think (at least for my use) it's even needed as apple photos does the job fine.

^^ I have my hard drive plugged up with all kinds of crap that I might use for only one thing, some I don't use anymore at all. Stayed with LR6 and PS5.5 just so that I didn't have to 'rent' either. Will get a macro lens and stop there. Just want to be able to take a nice pic or two of flowers and Buta minis (some keshi mebbe too).

okay, here are the last 3 + 1 orders that I mentioned. They're here, they're shot and I'm sticking to staying out from underfoot unless it's on my posted want list. Wish that I'd had a shot at those 2016 dinos, though! Mmm, all buta nice, some are just nuts nice!

Great photos! Chris, your buta look like indigenous species spotted in the wild, while doing a seasonal count. Nice use of depth emphasis too. Steve, the blues in your photo are so vivid. Is that an Indonesian wood carving in the background? Congrats on your new additions!

^^ yes, those are the wings of an apsara that I'm repairing prior to re-hanging. Not a lot of apsaras in the midwest, have to make 'em last.

Ok, not sure where to post this, it's more a question than a "post your collection" type thing. Can someone please explain why this buta fetched such a high price? I realize it's an Ultra 7, and one of the original oldie figures, but it must be the highest price paid for a standard issued Buta figure? Or is this a special festival issue?

I was wondering the same thing Grace. I would love to add this guy to my Buta hoard but the price was just ridiculous. This is the first time I have seen one for sale since I started collecting Buta though, so they obviously aren't too common/don't change hands very frequently.

Would be interesting to know if it were a limited festival release/one day license or something like that. Perhaps @toothaction can enlighten us.

It's just the normal Ultra 7. I've seen a couple change hands at around the $300 mark. Somebody was just impatient, or had money to burn.

If there ever was a Butanohana toy in need of reissue I'd say Ultraseven should be tops on that list. Not saying that because I need one (and have been hunting for years) either, just a very popular character and it has been 8 years since its release. I mean we've had Red King, Woo, Whale, etc etc How about this guy?

I believe this came out around the time Butanohana did their first show at the Gargamel store in 2009 (May/June?) so its not oldschool oldschool Buta more like mid school. Price has always been kind of high- I suspect because it is a popular character and no one lets them go.

@evom , you sure know how to string a long bow and shoot an arrow through my heart! Pink Baltan is so very lovely! So beautiful! Perhaps a mini Owl needs to appear to keep him company on your buta shelf? ;) Do you happen to know when that Blue Seabozu and micro S-taiin set was issued? I finally adopted a set last year, and it has to be among the top, in the buta cuties list. Love the girl Booska-ettes! Thank you for the photos!

p.s. I just noticed the blue teethies! :D I'll have to go home and have a closer look. Definitely a very imaginative color touch there! I wonder if this is a reference to Ohaguro?

p.p.s. @evom , can we have a closer look at your buta shelf? Pretty puhleease? :D

@Mr. Humphreys no problem! it was nice to check them out alittle closer again.

I'm not completely sure when the seabozu set came out.. I wanna say early 2014, at an ultraman event...?
Sorry, I'm terrible with remembering dates and timelines... I know theyre pretty hard to come by because of where they were released. very cool that you were able to get them finally!

closer look at all the shelves will come when I get a lamp ;)

I love the fact that the S-Taiin is painted like the Ultraman MAT member uniform. Those Booskas rock!

That's correct. The Seabozu and midsize Red King w/micros were sold at it. If you want to get more specific the exact date may still be on the blog.
