Been playing the Gwent open beta on PS4 this weekend. It's the standalone version of the card game featured in The Witcher. Seems to have lots of nice touches like daily challenges and ways to recycle cards. On the whole, it seems pretty accessible, too. There's probably going to be a heavy element of -pay-to-win seeing as it'll be free to play with the option to buy card packs (or barrels as they are) with real cash when you don;t have in-game currency. I'm not hugely familiar with Magic: The Gathering etc but I reckon it's quite similar.
I'm buying random indie games every so often, and I often notice on psnprofiles that nearly no one plays them. There's hits and misses for sure, so here are a few random recommendations that you'll often see on sale on PSN (most are ps4, a few are also Vita): Risk of Rain (metroidvania roguelike, pretty addictive, lots of replayability, fun! Terrible music though.) Lichtspeer (fun graphics, great music, I could see comparisons to Angry Birds in its simplicity + determining the angle to shoot at things) Sky Force (top-down shooter, you'll get nostalgic and enjoy every minute of it) Four Sided Fantasy (inventive puzzles, short, great music) Dokuro (super cheap but good length platformer, nice bosses, some good challenges) Hue (another platformer, simpler but also very inventive) Hyper Light Drifter (I can only gush: amazing game with great visuals, story, music, gameplay, etc. Hard, for sure. I think it won a bunch of prizes but it seems no one is playing it, so I thought I'd mention it here!)
Anyone going to jump into morrowind for the launch? Inpre ordered an upgrade for the current EsO as i want to continue playing my character. I just got lvl 35 more so playing after not playing in a year so if you have PS4 and gonna play hit me up. Thatdudedweller
No because its still ESO. Now if it was an actual Morrowind remake of the game i would be all on it. And thats going to be the biggest problem is that some might buy it thinking that its a remake of Morrowind in general. Iv already found a few ppl who mistaked it for the original game.
I can understand that however a lot of the lore and quest will mimic the original so I think it will be enjoyable. I really wasent a fan of ESO off the bat. Like I said I haven't played in over a year up to about a month ago and to be honest it has got so much better with recent patches. So I had no problem jumped NH into this large expansion. The worlds look crazy and with even the newest dlc of the dark brotherhood in ESO the game has changed for me. Either way I'lol check it out. Mainly the reason i didn't go for an actual copy of the game and the $70 version. Just the 30 digital expansion. I won't even be playing the new class. Haha
No shame in playing man. Let me know what you think. If its well enough on its own i might give it a try. I just REALLY feel that it was a wasted opportunity from Bethesda to give fans a solid remake game experience without the ESO attached to it.
Speaking about video games looks like there is a brand new Mega Man collection in the works! 7,8,9 and 10 to be precise but damn im excited none the less.
Anyone get to check out any of the E3 stuff thats been popping up this week? Super Mario Odyssey is shaping up to be something fantastic! Metroid Prime 4 was announced Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle looks super interesting. And im also looking forward to this new Sonic game popping up especially with your own customizable character. Also im really looking forward to the new Xbox One X which i should be able to play my old Xbox 1 games on. Iv got quite a few of the old games still id love to play including my Knights Of The Old Republic and Jade Empire.
I dunno - I'm pretty turned off by a lot of this trailer. The show-tune soundtrack makes me wanna puke. The "real" human worldliness bugs the crap outta me. Overall, the skin of the game looks awful. Oh, and I hate Bowser in top-hat-and-spats! WTF is this bullshit? It may very well be a super fun game, but I hate the world they built. I like Mario games because of the Mushroom Kingdom and everything it encapsulates!
Well the human world is only one part. Did you see some of the other areas they built? A lot of ppl can agree that the human part is the weakest aspect of the new game at the moment. Im sure the Mushroom Kingdom is still going to be in there. The Bowser in the top at i believe is because hes trying to get married to Peach but you also see that it does have eyes like Marios new hat so i believe it plays a larger roll in the story regardless of goofy looks. Im not a fan of the whole hats with eyes myself but i love the fact that you will be able to transfer your soul from the hat into almost any creature and object in the game to play around with.
^^^Oh, don't get me wrong - eventually I'll buy a Switch so I can play it! I'm sure it'll be super fun. I just don't think it LOOKS good. And even that I might come around on once I start playing it. But first impressions are low.
Indeed. I didn't think Mario Sunshine sounded appealing at all but once you got playing it was addictive as hell.
So looks like Atari might be coming back in a big way with there very own console in a VERY VERY long time. They have not made a console since the Jaguar system. So it will be interesting to see if this will be able to go toe to toe with Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. I thought this was a rather surprising thing so i figure id share it with those that might have fond memories of the original Atari systems or its others. In fact the Atari was the very first game system i was ever allowed to play before i received my Nintendo console. So yeah those feelings are coming back a little. Its weird that this might actually become a real contender in the first party gaming industry. Ill definitely be keeping an eye on this one. We will see though. I don't expect much but it might just surprise everyone. I guess its no stranger than all the other stuff that popped up during the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis era. Where we had the Jaguar, 3DO and all those other weird ones. Heres another video to because it is a confirmed thing.
Just picked up a new Xbox One S (thank you price drop!) and just can't seem to escape Battlefield 1. Been playing since the beta and it's just damn good.
Anyone looking forward to some Wolfenstein? Also the new Necromancer class for Diablo 3 is amazing. Beast as hell and can take on mobs like no ones business. I highly recommend picking the class up if you still play the game.
Listening to the man that created Castlevania talk about his new upcoming break away title called Bloodstained is really awesome. I have a lot of respect for this guy since he is one of the game developers that kept me interested in video games over the years. Im looking forward to my copy of this game once it finally gets fully developed and shipped!
Still playing Overwatch myself. Doomfist is coming out next week for Overwatch so im really excited to try this guy out. He looks like a character straight out of a Street Fighter video game. I also love playing Orisa. Her beetle skins are probably my favorite.
I have been so into Dark Souls for the last several years. I just finished the last DLC for Dark Souls 3. I am thinking revisiting Bloodborne now as I did not play the DLC. I also just bought Salt & Sanctuary and am looking forward to trying it out.
I heard a rumor Dark Souls might be coming to Switch. If it turnes out true than that would be a very very good step going forward for the company. As far as Darksouls goes I need to play some 3 later on today. I love that game so damn much!
