Not a mail-call per se, but I just picked this dirty condorman up today.
Gonna clean him up a tad, and I should probably turn the cape around so it shows red on display. (Or should I? Is it correct either way?)

@theknifeymoloko Great pick up! The cape should have red on the inside, it looks better as the red makes the body pop

Very nice grab Justin. So odd to see two of these guys pop up in quick succession to each other. I am with Scott on recommending [carefully] turning the cape back to the rightside out; it really helps compliment this guys colour and aesthetic IMO. So if he wasn't a mail arrival, what treasure trove did you unearth such an amazing toy in?

I grabbed him from a fellow vintage dealer during set-up for this weekends Mego-Meet in Illinois. He seems to have a bunch of random stuff along w/ mego and I just lucked out.
I also super randomly picked up a Zero Tester w/ helmet. (I never would have guessed I'd find either of these here.)

Wow, that is fantastic! You sure had a little stroke of luck there. :) That's the kind of random find us vintage-heads always dream of. Feel free to post some pics of the Zero Tester too (and of course, the kid in me really wants to see those Megos too!)

Very lovely. Most of these tend to have yellowed helmets, so I wouldn't worry all that much about that. And considering you rescued him appropriately from a batch of action figures, so much the better. A lovely toy, and congrats again on finding these both as you did.

Don't really celebrate vintage mail day anymore (till I sort some other things out) but every once in awhile I spring for a cheap 'want' missing from my collection:

Nice to have the King Flasher mini finally even if he is a bit more scuffed than the pic looked when purchasing lol. Been eyeing the Fireman boot for almost a year.

@doomboy - Ebireon! Wonderful beast, and it even looks like it has bloody claws and maw. It has such a strange and intense expression. Congrats on this find.

Very nice adoptions! That Ebireon is especially fun! Looks like a cross between a giant shrimp + lobster + fish + bird!

Ok, a bit of a teaser, until they get washed! 6 months of vintage, just arrived....

@Lixx Nice man!! Great scores on those. The perfect kind of neglected hunt I love. I need both those fellas too, so I can certainly appreciate your joy in getting them.

@doomboy Ah man, lovely pickup on the OG Marusan! I also was so intrigued by even the reissue of this wonderful and odd chap. The vintage is definitely where it's at, when possible. I love the colours on yours - perfect balance of loved look and bright metallics. A great toy, and I am sure a heck of a lot of fun in person.

@Mr. Humphreys You know darned well your photos of wrapped up toys are always such a tease, Grace! Can't wait to see the vintage uncovered treasures. :) [I've got my suds and toothbrush handy and waiting for the call!]

It looks like someone showed it what an Instagram search for "'#kaiju" comes up with in 2017. Now he wishes he got his ass obliterated like poor Gavadon, who at least doesn't have to bear witness to this travesty. THE SHAME..!!!

Thanks Jonathan! Yeah it was a headscratch why I never had the mini as the full size is one of my all time faves. I kept thinking hmmm I have a mini Flying Attack Human and Ant villian but no King Flasher why?

@Mr. Humphreys what the cuss Gracie?! You're such a tease! Let me guess a Tiger in there somewhere? hahahaha!

@Lixx , alas. no Tigers this time! But that pile does contain some spiffy things :D. Just had to post the teaser pic, as it will take time to clean the monsters. Full reveal soon!

@Mr. Humphreys - I like the teaser photos. Nothing quite like receiving a box full of aged creatures in need of a bath. :)
Ain't no party like a vintage cleaning party?

Thank you Mark! We really should resurrect the BASK meet ups again! It's been ages. I think the last time we met was 2012! Toys will be un-bubble wrapped soon, it'll just take awhile to clean them. I already bundled the last batch of scrubbed vintage, that was being stored in a side cabinet at work. They are all wrapped in clean paper towels and ready for a ride home. The cabinet is ready to receive the next batch of scrubbed toys, just have to clean them when everyone has gone home!

Another teaser! Everyone left, so I am washing them tonight...

I unwrapped them, and they are all pretty cruddy! They were heavily loved! The soft brush technique was not cutting through the top layer of old goo, andthe fleshie areas looked stained and brown. I took a risk on on one of them, and applied a small amount of soft scrub OXI version (not the bleach, lemon, or regular version, but the new oxidation cleaner) along with some Dawn dishwashing liquid, on a soft cotton rag (squeeze through with water to "mix" the paste into the rag), and it worked miracles!!!:shock::shock: Goo layer was easily removed, and the vinyl is SHINY!!!:shock::shock: Also, the flesh areas were brightened instantly, and all the other colors looked super vibrant when cleaned. It would have taken a looooong time to clean them with soap and a brush, and I doubt if they would have ended up looking as nice as they do with the scrub and soap mixture. After appling the mixture, each monster was washed with Dawn liquid dish soap to remove all of the soft scrub. I'lll take better pics soon. I tried to take a pic of the group just now, but the camera keeps leaving an awful shadow back-drop, because of the office lighting :x

p.s. this is the soft scrub I used (use just a small amount, when mixing with the liquid soap)

Please note that I am NOT advocating that you use this on your toys! This is still an experimental phase I chose to use for cleaning. So far so good though. :)

Ooh, Grace, you know how to get the heart racing. I spy a lovely mix of Tsuburaya, Toho, and Daei character hidden underneath those mummy wrappings! You've been busy indeed. (You know you can consider my shelves as placeholders, for that inevitable running out of room problem you are going to be having!)

Appreciate the recommendations on cleanser. I am always hunting a good combo of cleaning and treating. I generally just have used dishsoap lately, but it hasn't been working as well as in the past (cheaper stuff), and I really like that you 'rejuvenated' some of the vinyl shine with this one. I will have to consider a local variety of that style maybe. Definitely would like something that offers a deeper clean and restoration to some of my well-loved figures. And I want to avoid the abrasive style of stuff (e.g. sponges) as much as I can.
