    Hi

Old time user making a return. I visited Nakano Broadway last week in Japan and picked up this guy. I bought him from one of the consignment case stores, not at Mandarake. Is there any way to tell its age...I paid a vintage piece price for him and am hoping I didn't make a mistake. any help would be appreciated.

I added a link to the photo album. I am not sure if the photos I had in the post worked or not

@daveblog - David, that certainly looks like a legit example of a vintage Marusan Minya/Manilla from the late 1960's. It also looks to be in excellent condition. Does it smell like old vinyl?

Thanks for responding to my post...Yes he smells old. also feels old. I am relieved to hear he should be a true vintage one. This is my first time purchasing vintage in Tokyo and was worried I may have been duped. I also picked up this other vintage Minilla at the Madarake in Akihabra

I just love these pieces. Last year when I visited Mandarake they had the two next to each other and regretted not buying them then.
I also picked up a 1991 Bandai one

I would love to know what you think

    Thanks!

@daveblog - The taller red version was made by Shimada Toy Company during the transition period between Marusan and Bullmark. It has a different logo stamped on the foot compared to the later Bullmark version. It looks like you have put together a nice vintage Minilla collection.

Some very nice vintage pick up. Your photos are not appearing. Next time click on your photo then right click and select "copy image address." When you post it on your SB comment click on image icon and paste the image address.

Marusan released 1967. There is also a rare red vinyl version of this release. Green vinyl is the most common.[IMG]

Bullmark with Shimada Toy baby chick logo released 1969.

daveblog also has one of those flesh colored bootlegs to share with the class when he gets back. I'm really curious about what's on the underside of the feet.
