Ah cool, raptors are landing! How are you finding them?

I backed the Kickstarter for those--really cool how successful it was. I think I only ordered 3...I can't remember. Took forever to get the toys, but that happens with new endeavors, all good as far as I'm concerned--they seem very nice! I had mine sent to Ohio, so I'll get to play with them in a couple months when I visit!

Toys are getting to be a rather expensive personal investment nowadays. If the toys were easier to come by and didn't cost me 20 per figure I'd be more inclined to open them on a regular basis.

That's fine if you are approaching these toys as an investment (we probably all have opinions on that, and I will refrain from a long elaboration here), but I don't think that is really what this forum is all about. Fair enough, you are excited to have some new 'collateral' for your investment portfolio, but essentially you are just throwing up photos of packaged action figures which could be pulled right off the pegs. And not very good ones at that; stock photos in this case serve just as well. I know I am probably coming off sounding like a grumps here, and it's likely true, I just want to try and put this all in perspective in relation to Skullbrain. There are so many action figure forums out there to serve your needs in this respect far better. As another parallel, none of the chogokin folks who are members post their [very elaborate and gorgeous] collections here, and I would argue that that is much more relevant. But anyways, I suppose it is better than most of the inane bovine faeces that gets 'discussed' here these days, so never mind. We're all good. :)

TL;DR - be happy you can get figures for only $20 (though I agree this pricing model is incredibly unfortunate [and actually does piss me off] especially for any average child)

I'm not going to stress over the quality of the photos lol.

It's not even the 20 dollar figures I'm miffed about. There are ones like the MOTU and the normal Fourhorse Men stuff that's around a standard 35 a piece. By which that price range is starting to trickle over into the normal with other collectors toy lines. It's definitely making it much harder to casually collect things. Mind you I pay the bills first. And know these are targeting the adults but any kid that wants in on these kinds of lovelies have 0 chance to experience them.

Did you guys see the new Mattel Jurassic World toy lines yet?! There freaking awesome! And while I still think the rubber Kenner versions are still better these ones are super affordable and not to mention loaded with cool action features unlike the bullet hole riddled constant battle damaged mess that was the Hasbro line. The packages are mainly open ended mimalist for collectors and kids alike to try out the different toys action features to. I bought a few I'll take pictures of once open them up. Wanted to see if anyone else had found these toys yet. I haven't been this excited for mainstream dinosaur products in a long time. :o

I won't till next weeks paycheck. These are pretty damned expensive releases. But the detail is nice.
Nevermind....the pre-sale sold out. I thought these would be pre-order? Prepare for some bullshit aftermarket prices if these don't see a restock.

I am pretty sure they will have a single carded release. These seem to be more of a limited pre order set to test the waters of demand.

Picked up Cybertron from Toys R Us today. This is DEFINITELY one of the nicer Hasbro exclusives from the store however the price can scare ppl off considering it around $150.00 with tax. But since Toys R Us is going out of business iv made it my mission to try and obtain one before total shut down. Today they raised the price cut up to 40% off of regular toys. So being able to obtain Cybertron today was a welcome dream come true. Last week they had 4 left but today only 2 so I grabbed one just in time!

Its definitely bigger than most sofubi toys and super solid and heavy as well.

Took it out for display. Not going to show all the change modes but there are 2 planet versions, one defense and one robot which is what you see now.:D
    [IMG]

Twin shoulder cannons that shoot out rockets, hand cannons that spring up and extend out with the cyber key, and glow chest laser cannon and eyes.

    Fully articulated fingers to!

Overall I'm extremely satisfied with this big guy and proud to display. Sad we won't see more high quality transformer exclusives like this from Toys R Us though.:?

Next week I'm going to try for one last giant robot toy if it even remains by that time. Lol

Not my usual thing, but I placed a preorder for this guy more than a year ago when I was still collecting 1/6-scale figures. It's the mascot for Hideo Kojima's new games studio, produced by 1000Toys. So maybe this is the wrong thread, since it was designed in Japan. Planned to pass it on once it arrived, but... just look at it.

So I GUESS Mego the toy company is back but it sure did fly under my radar. Possibly some of your radars to?:|

Seems to be Target is getting these guys in. They have the classic lines which feature characters like Jimmy Hendricks, Star Trek, Action Jackson, I Dream Of Jeannie and a few of the other shows I'm not to familiar with. Might go back and pick a few more up. The single carded figures are going for 15$s each. While the bigger 16 inch dolls like Wonder Woman, Zod, Harley Quin and Batman only go for 20$s each which isn't bad at all.

Anyways, I picked up this dude.

And than the card back which is really nice to.

Anyways definitely have an interest in some of these newer ones. I heard a wave 2 and 3 is in the works but there is a lot for the start of this first wave.

especially when it comes to legends. you can usually slit the sealing tape, carefully pop the figures out of their molded plastic bins, and keep the boxes to re-seal the figures in. i've done that with a few wwe elite figures (packaged pretty much the same as marvel legends) and i've had no problem putting them back in and reselling them whenever i made cuts. of course, i let the buyers know they had been once removed and displayed.

however, on the other side of the coin, i am guilty of keeping stuff carded in the realms of action figures moreso than with vinyl/kaiju where it ALWAYS gets removed from bag and header. sometimes i like to put a few packaged figures from the line (if applicable, and usually the more rare ones) in the background of a shelf and fill the front of that shelf with the remaining loose figures from the same toy line. action figures don't flush out a shelf display as well as bulky vinyl figures do sometimes ;)

It has been forever. I was just dusting the toy shelves today and it got me nostalgic for the social side of the art form of toy collecting. So what better way to reintroduce myself to that lifestyle than by logging into skullbrain? Thanks for the welcoming back. :)

Ah, so good to have you back in the fold @silver_lining_man ! :D On a personal level I have sorely missed those MOTU KO updates and incredible collection pics. People who are new here need to go back and check out Josh's old posts, a real treat. I still am so envious of the people who have built up great collections like that, it is surprisingly hard and expensive to get in on the 'trend' now.

@boon velvet Man, incredible love for the FP Adventure People. I have discussed them here and there on the board, but boy were they a major foundation of my youth. They certainly lived up to the name, I'll grant FP that, and had the sturdiness (as with so many of the FP toys of the era) to last out many, many adventures (and then some). This made me really happy, thanks JP!

@ultrakaiju I will definitely get around to taking some pics of the additions since my departure from the board and post them either here or dig up my thread in the SYC section.
