The latest wave of collectors and artists are fucking up the market globally, and are more than happy to throw guys under the bus, trample grannies and fuck with artists and manufacturers to get what they want.

There will be an implosion eventually, but until then I'm avoiding their pissing contest - circle jerk confusion!

No idea on run sizes so difficult to compare with previous releases.

He posted the lotto winners the night after the show. Deleted now it seems.

I remember three Brutal A, 30 Gorilla Ju and a total of 66 toys. Although there was no King Ju even listed there, so maybe that wasn't complete. If it was, there were another 33 between the robot Kraken (less than 10) and the mini Mecha (more than 20)

The prices are in RMB, so cost a little higher.
Many moons ago, the retail for GJ is all but 9000yen at CKA. Sofubi inflation !

One offs are a whopping 48000.
Normally I share the same sentiment about your take on the state of sofubi collecting/collectors. Although on this occasion I respect the effort made by many to fly in, queue, buy, and meet the artist for the event knowing that there is a chance of walking away empty handed. This is much better than whatever form of online lottery. I think it is a testimony to the hxs sofubi stardom to be able to attract so many paying fans.
HxS quality and sculpts rarely disappoint, the event has many outstanding figures on display and sale. And there is real world interaction that I think makes collecting fun. I think it is a good show to enjoy even if one is not there.

I think the event is very effective this time, and it has eliminated a large part of the flippers. At least in my opinion, no one re-sell his toy in the after market in China. Instead, more people are looking for what they missed.

I've seen merch from the exhibit being resold online.

I feel like his toys are being flipped, just not out in the open - probably just contacting those with "WANT" posts on ig via DM.

Hopefully nothing ends up being flipped, but there are photo-books on YJA already. Show looked fantastic, curious when he's planning the next one. The marbled MG looked stunning based on the photos.

I can't fathom that somehow people have the ability to stop his toys from being resold in China but they let someone bootleg all his sculpts and copy his paint work to flood the Chinese market.

Disney has a large bootleg market in the world, but this does not affect any of Disney's genuine sales in China. There are always different levels of people. When you have financial ability and social status, you will not consider buying any bootleg merchandise.

Perhaps the biggest bootleg market is in China, but the biggest genuine purchasing power is also in China.

Yes China has incredible "purchasing power" which is why toys from every single big show will end up being resold and flipped to people in China without you or the "many eyes" ever knowing about it. Most high end toy sales happen privately.

With over 120 pieces available it is literally impossible for anyone to find out where they are all going. It can't be done. To suggest otherwise is just silly.

Looking through IG, the number of new unfamiliar winners of toys from the show is quite substantial, I'm not saying they are not genuine collectors, but the potential is there ;)

How do folks who didn't attend the show get one? Is Hirota gona offered it himself?

Edit* Just saw his blog post, Thanks for the info Jimmy :)

been comfortable with the layout of it.. i made gmails and yahoo's but i seriously dont like the layout of them, and am not used to know how to do everything. AOL will literally have to be no more for me to move on and force myself to this decade. lol

    I'm calling bullshit!

No one's OPENLY re-selling but given a bunch of the asshats in the Instaspam pissing contest seem to have little previous HxS interest there will be plenty of selling going on behind the scenes . . . and plenty of back-stabbing!

I’m with a lot of you feeling priced out of the game, but still can enjoy from the sidelines. I’m glad I got into the hobby when I did and had all the help from people along the way.

The double headed battle dragon and robot guts Brutal Ace did make my jaw drop.

    Ahhhh....the new Nag thread.

Starting to get cozy around here again 8)

We just need zapatoloco to whip us up some nifty artwork of a gorilla ju blowing himself. Then we’d REALLY be cooking with gas!

Pointy ass-rings, anyone? (passes around colorful selection of ass-rings)
