I made a furniture Sofubi. queue Moaning and discontent. I thought long and hard about what kind of Vinyl toy I wanted to produce. and... It's a couch. Thanks for looking <3 I might have a few of these at designer con, for the homies. I like em personally. Kudos for not making another Nag ripoff or some other overdone horseshit. But you really need a rotting zombie penis omake to display casually on the couch. I’m definitely gonna need to pick one of these up for @chimmychazz (fuck yo couch, Charles!)
I absolutely love this figure! Where can I get one at Dcon?? You're doing some really wonderful things in your sculpting style that give it so much character. Sort of evocative of Grody Shogun's style.
Yeah...um...I am...SO all for this! I can’t even tell you why I think this is cool as shit, but goddamn it, it is.
I don't know if this is just some meta joke on John ( ), and it doesn't really matter. Definitely wins it for originality over what a lot of 'artists' are putting out as first time offers. I really dig those resin combos. I'm with David, I think the variety there lends itself well to the concept and probably a good few SBers would enjoy these. What's next, a while line of toy furnishings?
Thanks, Steve! I love monster toys, I think we all do. And, I had made 4 different monster toys, but i wasn't liking any of them. The correlation between the word Sofubi, and sofa, most defiantly came to mind. I remember talking to John of Rampage toys. I made the mistake of calling to it as Sofa-bee... He said, "It's not sofa-bee, It's suh- fu- bee." I said... "It's too late!" If i was going to make a couch it'd be for my friends, and the size correlates with the toys i see the most, which are the 8 inch transformers, and the marvel legends. And too... a piece of work that had nothing to do with anything, but yet had a purpose, to be an accessory for toys. Making a toy is a scary, exciting experience. i think we all can agree, that making a vinyl toy is a expensive daunting journey. Out the gate, I was betting on people hating it. so Positive response is really exciting.
I think everybody should pm @666doll about this. I'm sure @666doll will appreciate it immensely! Btw, how many of these would you need to build a life-size couch? Asking for a friend.
As I basically don’t make toys with moving leg joints (gah! It falls! It faaaaalllllsss!!!!), my toys shall forthwith stand upon thy couch-oo-bee creation. Well done seeing this through - I wondered if you’d get cold feet!
Thanks for dropping by and showing off the Sofa-Bi, Neal! It's really great! I super enjoyed how Sunguts, Quackmaxx, Blobpus et al really liked it as well haha. I can't wait to get my hands on one!
I'll tell you one thing, and as an artist with a bachelors degree I really mean this. You got balls. I don't want to dive too deep into it, but I'm fairly certain I could write an entire thesis on why this sculpt works so well in soft vinyl form. Damien Hirst or a Rothko, both artist's styles would compliment this canvas.
