I feel sorry for the the folks out there who don’t grasp sarcasm (of which there are many-even explicit sarcasm). It is one of the great pleasures in this life.
I think it's great that the Nishimuras come over to the US for Monsterpalooza. I would like to try and attend some day. @Roger - how many Hedorah DX's did they bring over, and how did they pull that off? Haha, that's so cool you were able to pick one up directly from them. I also liked your photo on IG of how you stuffed it into your suitcase.
They brought ten, not sure exactly how, and they were priced at $340. If they were on the east coast, I would have bought whatever they had left, filled my car up with it, and sold it myself. Unfortunately I only had whatever space I could squeeze out of my suitcase for my own Hedorah. They will be at the next Monsterpalooza in April.
I nudged them on that, they said unfortunately it's too far. I wouldn't want to do that trip twice a year with a ton of merch, either.
They came to GFest this year and last year. I guess Chicago is as far as they can afford to go. By the time they got to Chicago they had maybe 5 Yellow/Tokyo Hedorah DXs left, having gone to other shows on the way. But I think they were 400$ each. Their tables were directly across from ours so I got to know them a bit. They are very gracious people.
David, fully agreed, the original Bullmark mid-size was the first vintage sofubi I discovered, and it kicked off my downward spiral ongoing commitment to this hobby. Do you have the cyborg tribute version that came in the mini egg? That one still eludes me...
