I think they do, it translates approximately to "grabbing the biggest, priciest Punkdrunkers toy at DCon and listing it on Skullbrain less than a month later for MVH trades."

Not going to knock you for hunting what you love, some hustle is normal. But it's funny to see you popping off on dudes offering money for MVH when you seemingly bought another popular maker's toy to trade flip it, which in my book is far worse. Stones and glass houses, honestly. It's really annoying when people act like this is a Chinese collector problem.

This right here, I just see it as the status of the game.
People get new stuff they dont want to trade for stuff they do what.
I feel like this is the way of the world of collecting in so many hobbies these days.

because they can eventually sell it for some premium abit later on ATLEAST get their money back

 

You have no sense of contextualization, so I fully understand how you assume the worst case scenario.

The reality of my situation was I wanted the RealHead/PunkDrunkers colab which sold out right in front of me since there was pretty bad line cutting and line management and that is what everyone went for. They only had 3 pieces so I went for that one thinking it would grow on me but it hasn't. I wish I went for a RealHead instead but it is what it is.

I didn't buy it as trade bait, but I suppose you could argue that given the time from "this is kinda cool" to "eh, I'd rather have the shelf space and something else" was about 2 months I can see your point. You don't know me so I can't blame you for assuming I'm just trying to trade flip, but those who do know me know better. My only hope would be to assume a bit more positive intent. I'm not screaming "DEATH TO THOSE WHO TRADE FLIP" while knocking over M-World donkeys and pre-loading an eBay auction posting while I'm in line. And even then, there are degrees in this hobby. Offering someone a 300% return on their 5 minutes of time sitting on the couch tells someone this whole flipping thing is a good way to make a buck. For me I was just gonna a trade to another fan. If I could have gotten traded for the RealHead/PD colab I would have but how could I? If someone wanted mine they would have bought it instead.

 

The post has been up since December 2nd, so it took you a little over a week. It's cool to get something and realise you don't feel it; I've made that mistake before and I'll probably do it a few times yet. But it seems like shifting goalposts when you make it out like your only option was to trade it.

I'm also surprised you're saying that I should step back and consider your circumstances, that in context it wasn't that bad, when you're going to make holier-than-thou comments about collectors who frankly have a harder time getting at MVH than any of us in the States. If you're willing to see yourself as a passionate fan trying his best, why not do the same for Chinese collectors?

I don't think you're a bad guy, I just don't think your position makes sense here.

I ran out of clay, but made more progress on these guys. How in the hell does no one stock sculpy firm !

 

Are your new heads going to be universal joints so we will see more mix-n-match stuff like the Berserker and Leviathan DX?

 

I love the pumkinhead (of course) but I also like the contacts on the head of the right head sculpture.
Wish they were a tad bit bigger but awesome none the less.

 

No, these heads are massive. Joint wise they might possibly fit the kougai. But size wise it wouldn’t look pleasing.

We’ll see though, from past experience you never know what will look cool until it’s done. So far all toys that mash up are all happy accidents. I’d like to keep it that way instead of trying to force it.

It’s a design choice. For paint it will work well. Also, I’m trying to do my own thing with fink designs either than doing bulging eyes. Some are more subtle. Still have work to go.

Yeah, I would have never guessed about leviathan and berserker dx looking so amazing, but they were a highlight of BS3 for me.

 

@Rich is this what you use or is the price just bad? Its about 12$ per pound.

Yeah that’s what I use and had to order it. I try to buy local because I can open the box and see if the clay is fresh and soft. Whenever I buy anywhere online it seems they offload old clay. The last two times I did this I got crumbly old stock. It’s sort of usable, but takes a ton of work to get to a workable state. I’m starting to wonder if either sculpy is gonna discontinue it or if they are oversold and can’t keep up causing retailers to be out of stock.
