    Gave this one a watch last night and enjoyed the hell out of it. Went in not expecting much and finished pleasantly surprised. Same story with I Don't Feel at Home... earlier this year.
    Will give Hold the Dark a go next.

    If you got Amazon Prime Video they have an exclusive Kamen Rider series called Amazon Riders. There are two seasons available and they're pretty fun if you're into that over-the-top tokusatsu nonsense!

    The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs was fucking amazing! It's a collection of short stories in a film so of course one or two aren't as good as the others but damn three of them are brilliant. Of course the Cohen brothers usually do great work so it's no surprise. The first one and the last one are my new favorite western stories ever. It's on netflix and in some theatres too I heard. Go watch it!

    New Joe Bob Briggs "Drive-In" series premiering tonight on Shudder! 9pm ET. 4 new back-to-back holiday horror movies with commentary by Joe Bob. If you don't have Shudder, the Joe Bob Last Drive In series are worth it completely.

    Edit: Also "You Might Be The Killer" is great. That actress from Buffy is in it.

    I really had no idea where else to post this, but can anyone recommend me some really good Peter Lorre movies? I've been wanting to watch The Maltese Falcon but haven't been able to watch it yet. I'm a huge sucker for really good noir.

    I tried watching that - thinking that it would offer up some innovative and practical methods for storing and even culling huge collections of items. Ten minutes in I see her telling the family to sit down and close their eyes and thank the house for a silent minute. Then I see something where they have to thank each shirt as they fold it.. then I hear her use the phrase "spark joy" about a hundred times in a single episode.. then I decided this isn't for me.

    Loved Mowgli. My favorite jungle book so far.

    Not great but good enough to enjoy is a German series Berlin Dogs.

    IO was absolutely terrible.
    Trigger Warning was entertaining (although riddled with hypocrisy).
    Just a heads up.

    This doesn't even capture it. I just watched it last night too, and was going to post about it's terribleness in the Sci-fi discussion thread, just to warn people off. I need to make some compendium posts there I think. As I think I may have vented on in another random thread, the calibre of 'Netflix originals' is really hit or miss, with the average rating sinking immensely with increased output. I don't know what kind of arts major thought they were being so brilliant and deep when they wrote IO, but it should have been shelved by the first person who looked at it. Also, 'starring Anthony Mackie, who played the lead character in Altered Carbon'..... oh, okay then. :roll: {in case you missed it, you probably just blinked}

    @ungawa222 :thumbsup: Was going to mention that in the arts doc discussion (wherever that thread went, maybe the Documentary one?), but yes, I cannot recommend this enough. Genius, without a doubt, and I don't think, as much as the doc touches on it, they really came at the whole 'controversy' the right way. But whatever your take on that matter, Szukalski's work is just incredible. My mind is blown by the man's creativity and execution. I really need more of that in my life, even if only in some sort of compendium form. [I am sure the popularity will make this difficult now, though]. As a random aside I had no idea about the whole DiCaprio connection, never having given it any thought - strange world.

    I watched Aggretsuko over New years break and it was super fun. 15min episodes and its just a simple, chill show about a salary woman and her everyday life. I loved it! And since I cant do millenial reality TV (ie. Mari Kondo/ baking shows) this is a good alternative to talk about with my friends in this age bracket. Very recommended and the humor and animation is very decent for a sanrio product.

    This “Love, Death, + Robots“ series that popped up today is heaps of fun. Some episodes better than others of course, but every one of them so far are interesting and well executed. I’m on the cattle farmers vs aliens episode now, tho I had to pause it to jump on over here and spread the good word about the show. It’s a collection of animated shorts, futuristic cyber punk chaos in a video game universe where nothing is sacred except the experience. I don’t want to spoil any of the fun like I have had, diving in without any knowledge of the episodes , but that’s the grand jist of what I’ve watched so far. Looks like I have 14 episodes left too (18 episodes in total). Alright, I’m anxious to know how episode 4 gets on. Check it out when you can!

    love death and robots is really fun. I polished off the series, lots of episodes are less than 10 minutes long.
    A couple comedy episodes that still work really well. I usually don't like too much comedy in my science fiction.
    But quite a few really good, thoughtful episodes. Really good series.
