I have to say, I saw this today and found it both highly amusing and pretty enjoyable. One thumb up for each, and a good laugh besides. Poster artwork by Fernando Reza source c/o: https://kotaku.com/the-last-jedi-you-look-different-1827305120
If you can manage to ignore the intro and outro skits... ...this fella has some pretty interesting things to say. Yes? No? Maybe?
You kids seen these? View this post on Instagram View this post on Instagram View this post on Instagram View this post on Instagram Some nutter has been making full head latex Kenner masks.
Have long ago....... walked away from Star Wars but have to say these are so great. They really capture the honest innocence of the early Kenner line, subtle and weird. I love how cramped and cluttered the guys studio is too, an inner personal validation perhaps?
Just a heads up the maker of those masks, Mortarheads, still has a Walrus Man and Snaggletooth available in his etsy shop. I believe he's been working on a Greedo release and I'm seriously considering picking one up just so I can put together a full Kenner Greedo kit to walk around in. Of course that's also on top of all the other historical and non-historical kits I'd like as well.....oh well....
Opinions of the Hasbro Retro Star Wars line? Looks like Reaction figures inspired a... reaction. http://www.rebelscum.com/2019-Toy-Fair/Toy-Fair-New-York-2019-Hasbro-Official-Images/ Click on the thumbnails to see the high-res versions and you can clearly see that these are 3D printed prototypes.
it meh for me, they seem to do it every few years -this might be the first while Disney is at the helm so I'll check it out. I'm just hoping Medicom releases a new Star Wars Kubrick set.
Why why why would they use 3D printed prototypes for the promo shots of these figures? I understand they have tweaked the originals slightly and/or didn't have access to the original tools - but at least buff the grainy texture off the figures before painting and taking nice photos of them.
oh man that video just destroyed all my childhood memories of star wars action figures in a couple of seconds. I seriously felt sad to see my favorite figures melt away and DIE.
Are we going to see an Episode 9 trailer today? Will JJ bring balance back to the force??? As much as I hated The Last Jedi (and still do) I can't wait for things to get back on track with this next film
It's meh for me. Being told to "shut the fuck up" if you don't like it by Lucas Film employees and Disney just sitting back and doing nothing has really hurt the brand. You can have an awesome trailer and still make a shit movie. And I doubt JJ can save this train wreck but one can hope they at least give it a decent Viking funeral.
It's going to be great - JJ mentioned in the panel that it's set years after TLJ so basically that's a veiled way of saying "we aren't going to address 90% of what happened in that Rian Johnson thing". Also the cast were making joking about the Jedi books, Finn mentioning how much more enjoyable it was to work on this episode etc so it's pretty clear that they all feel things are back on track. The funny thing is that people now automatically just say "Star Wars is so shit now, JJ is just giving the fans what they want, blah blah" These are generally the people who blindly said TLJ was awesome and are too proud to actually admit it was one of the worst movies ever made. Hence they are so frustrated by their position that they feel the only way to fit in is to slight any future SW films 'just incase it's a flop'. This happened with Solo (nobody gave it a chance) and unfortunately might happen with Episode 9. People are blaming Disney for everything that went wrong with Star Wars as a whole when really this is all aftershocks from TLJ and Rian Johnson trying to subvert the franchise and failing miserably. And before the automatic conclusion is brought up that if you hate TLJ - you hate Rose Tico - you hate women - blah blah bullshit is brought up I'm actually really excited to see her character in this film with a sensible script and competent directing. Also the new trailer would have been perfect without any sign of the Emperor so stfu if you think this praise is all due to 'fan service'.

semi related but found this while scouring the 'Bay for odds n' ends. https://www.ebay.com/itm/STAR-WARS-...102910?hash=item441317cc7e:g:bVEAAOSwVA5Z6pPF $679.95 for that. $679.95......

I wish Disney hadn't binned Lucas' scripts for the new sequels. I feel like they're completely winging their way through the new trilogy.
Well, yes! That's the exact reason I wish they hadn't thrown out his scripts. The Force Awakens was a load of Disney bollockry too
