I would have happily ignored this toy but i changed my mind (see previous users posts).
Here's some prime examples of the painted 'Mechacreatch' AKA 'Frankenstein's Ball Bag'. Enjoy ;)

he did a paint app with black and white stripes like a prison uniform which, although i didnt like it, at least broke his barrier of paint apps. still. he would have benefited from spreading out his ideas into a handful of toys instead of an all-in-one combo deal with fries. and investing some of his earnings into a little corner for photos would help too. the “flash on, carpeted staircase” background doesnt do anything to help sell his wares

Apparently being into skateboarding and music, then banging on about how your toy is so personal to you because you're into skateboarding and music, means collectors should automatically love the toy. Or the maker will throw a big hissy fit. Hey man, lots of toy makers are into things like that. It doesn't mean they try to cram those things (designed by other people) into a hot mess of vinyl and then try and sell it.

Don't ask people's opinions if you only have interest in the positive ones. You gotta take the rough with the smooth. Practically any art posted on the internet is soundly criticised or praised, or both. He better get used to it, the big baby.

His approach is like a total stranger walking into a house party ; demanding opinions on their clown suit , and then collaping in tears when people say he looks silly.

From memory the original Pushead Cococroc sold zero when first released at Superfestival . . . it took a couple more outings to gain any momentum.

A sell-out run off 5 toys is meaningless . . . monkeys throwing their own shit will eventually hit a target.

The toy world is a different beast these days.

I was told something similar of Mori’s first toy, the Oni punk dude. “Couldn’t give them away” was how it was described to me.

Agreed with Manny on the B/W looking best of the paint apps seen so far. But best is still something that would never interest me. Ok, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he sold 20 white blanks. There's still a ton that bothers me.

Why lottery? New maker with a not hype toy should not force a lottery sale. When he had a second lottery for people that didn't pay kind of stuck out to me. Normally in a lottery sale, if you have flakers, you will award the toy to a loser. This implies that everyone who entered won. What a great "lottery!"

The thing that gets me going more than anything is the caption, and then the comments.

Caption: "I'm just calling out a few trolls and jealous haters that posted useless comments."

One "useless comment" that comes to mind is everyone who pointed out that the penis jack made it worse. But, if you look at his IG, you will notice that when he sold the toy that all the pictures did not include the penis. So were our comments truly worthless?

Second, ONE successful release does not make your toy successful. Come back to me when people are still buying Mechacreatch in 1, 3, 5, even 10 years. Sounds crazy but Mori san has been selling Chaosman for over 10 years.

The comments are also funny, because it's really your personal echo chamber. You will notice that all the comments are positive, but you also understand that any negative comments can be immediately censored.

Just to be 100 percent sure, I did comment on his post to confirm this was about the poll he posted. This was his reply to me: "i honestly forgot the date, I haven't been back since. No biggie though, it's all love now."

Well, no, this post is the opposite of "love." Showing "love" would have been leaving it alone. He thanked everyone on the thread for their opinions. It should have been the end. But like a child, he didn't like the answer he got, and he resorted to talk shit on IG. He will not come back, because we didn't like his toy. Because we didn't like his toy, our opinions are invalid. This is the logic we are dealing with.

I never liked the toy but Now I'm just stuck asking myself "why would someone act this way?" He never came here for actual criticism, and was taken aback when this place wasn't an echo chamber. There's a difference between giving honest negative criticisms and being a "troll."

Not enough dick, next one please.

People should probably stop asking for feedback when they come with completed moulds or don't plan on showing a sculpt. Re:swarmm, there do seem to be some people who dig it, and for a toy that's based on something as intimate as "your childhood" that's really the best you can expect. I think every maker on here has received some actual hate, or at least much blunter criticism than everyone gave Michael. And most of them actually make good toys ;)

Probably not the right thread to be posting in, but just rewinding a couple of pages to the out of nowhere 'Rinse & Repeat' robot dude and the craziest sales method ever. . .

Considering it would be new tooling for it, that adds a little more weight to my suspicion that it's a Chinese manufacturer doing a huge run. Honestly at those prices for a big robot I can't be too mad, although I expect anyone buying will see you get what you pay for. Not like the Sea Head last year where the chap wanted $500 for an open-run ripoff.

The "Yamashi Studio" name still rubs me the wrong way, but at least they're not skinning anyone alive.

So you're telling me I get to throw away my money at a shady toymaker AND cost PayPal thousands of dollars when it goes south and everyone demands a refund? This just sounds like good clean fun

If I remember correctly, that mailed charcoal helped spawn the original DX and is a big reason why Rich is so successful today

Yeah I mean fuck giving up and being sad about it. People are allowed to have opinions and they are allowed to differ from mine. I don’t think the toy is fugly I do think it’s not engineered the way I was hoping it would be and I learned a lot from it. When I posted the witch doctor I was positive he was gonna show up in here.

 I almost cant even believe this.. I fell in love with the Croc when I first saw him.

Can't believe people needed a few more shows coupled with a cup of Foldger's coffee to WAKE THE @*(&#$ UP!!

    It seems pretty obvious.

He just came here to advertise his toy.

Thing is most new vinyl toys sell pretty easily. Runs are generally small. Friends and family and toy painters buy them up. Plus all the speculators who think there is some outside chance that some random toy thing will increase in value later. The first run is easy as long as it's not a pre-order thing.

Can you go 10 or 15 runs deep is the real question.

Again though, for lots of people who make toys the real success is getting their vinyl made and in their own grubby hands after years of work. What happens after that doesn't change how they feel about what they've made.

It's more a statue than a toy, so I can see where more traditional toy buyers might not be into it. It is 1 of the first toys I remember seeing that has so much detail to it.

I don't want to assume anything but when I saw this the production seems very similar to the guy that is bootlegging toys. Any color vinyl you want. Special 1 off painted versions. Crazy cheap prices. I in no way want to call this guy out, but I just saw these similarities. Maybe they are using the same factory. I really don't have anything against the toy, I like stylized robots. I think I'm like the majority of people here, find it very odd for 2 or 3 toymakers to come up with the same concept consecutively.

A customizer told me he originally wanted to charge $150 a blank, sold about 25 or so and ordered 500.

Let that sink in for a minute
