Some music accompaniment for the thread . . . Not toys, but this is for people who have yet to enjoy Ukulele Ultraman - 'Rolling Coconuts'
Managed to track down a copy of this tv special on Marusan - so naturally I have uploaded it to Youtube for everybody to enjoy keep an eye out for Goto-san halfway through!
LOL.. "I didn't even know I wanted it but now I need it in my life." Here's one I found on todays surf.
This is so awesome! Thank you, @siphilon! I actually spent a few hours with Tashiro - San in 2015, and have quite a few photos of his factory. I did get to see celluloid sheets and some original blow molds, but watching the process is so rad. I also got to see a very extensive shelving house of toys he’s produced, both vintage and current, including some of the dolls that appear right at the very beginning. He had three vintage, matte finish Felix the Cat toys I was absolutely gaga over.
Pretty interesting video with @Omnihiro at Maruyama factory.. I'm assuming most of the blanks stacked in the background are produced at Maruyama.. I spot some Leo, Blobpus, Geek!, TAG, Goccodo, Guumon, MVH, Velocitron and Science Patrols (not suprising for those two), Uamou, Sunguts..
Not a toy video, though there’s some sparse shots of Nakajima’s home, I thought this was a nice, little snippet.
Some new Marusan TV content just popped up.. Interview with Hariken (with English subs) Interview with Bullmark/M1Go (no subs)
Surprised these haven't turned up yet... a couple of interviews and collection tours with two OG Skullbrainers..
Goodness! Mr. Carl has a LOT of toys! Nice variety and beautifully displayed too. Very nice interview (good perspective!) and wonderful to see all of those toys! Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed watching that video p.s. he must not have cats at home!
Jesus fuckin’ Christ, that was painful to watch. I don’t think I’ve heard the word “figurine” in my entire 33 years of living as much as I heard it in this one video. I also didn’t know everything made in Japan and sold at Mandarake was a custom.
