Ok, this is probably going to be a dud thread, but I'm curious to see how many of you stumble upon toys in unexpected public places (urban, residential, eateries, parks, etc...). Please post your photos of toys you find in public places (toy store windows are also fair game ), just another diversion! Coming back from having my car battery replaced (unexpectedly discovered it was leaking acid very badly!), I stumbled upon this gigantic teddy bear in a super cute vintage Ford yellow truck. Just had to pull over and take a couple of pics! yes, people were looking at me (crazy kooky lady!), and I was trying not to get run over on a busy side street! Just waiting for Mommie to finish shopping, so he could go back home. How could you not take a picture of this! SF summers are grand!
A slightly altered old post of mine, re-purposed for your new thread: It wasn't until I'd already placed and photographed these two fellas... ...that I discovered this happy trio just to my left: The Gavadons met the locals today on October 15th, 2015! Seconds later my ride showed up, so we had to cut our visit short. Very curious Deevis! What is that string (looks like clear fishing line) that's duct taped on the dino's belly, I wonder, and why is it attached to that big black box?
^ I believe that the 'string', actually just dangling down loose in the photo, is serving as an all-in-one harness and leash; clearly applied by the MIA youth because Rex just wouldn't come when he was called. You're probably right that it's fashioned from fishing line, although in my memory it somehow morphed into dental floss. It's been a while. I like to think that the poor dino was dragged for miles and miles, and up and down many a staircase. So, I brought another friend with me when I next visited the gang: You can see droplets from the sky masquerading as lens flare in this one. I learned that day that Gary doesn't mind the rain a bit. It wasn't until February of the next year, the day before my birthday, that I was able to check up on my old friends again: Sad but so, they hadn't moved an inch in two seasons. It's been 3 years now, I hope they're getting enough to eat. graffiti Chibira-Kun Mechara Tsuburaya sofubi toys mini minis Dinosaur dino Dora Pontiac outside outdoors fishing line Buta ButaNoHana ぶたのはな Nostalgic Heroes Garamon ガラモン Gary "Ultra Q" ウルトラQ Tsuburaya mini minis Dinosaur dino Dora Marusan repro model kit Pontiac ノスタルジックヒーロー
Ugh, I LOVE those Ford Econolines! Either van or pickup - one of my dream vehicles. But in the spirit of this thread, I once found a Booska on the sidewalk outside my house. It has sat on my kitchen counter ever since.
Back when I lived in the county, right next to the heroin capital of my state I found this perfectly positioned classic on the way to work:
This thread is somewhat similar, though distinct enough to exist in its own right, to an old and forgotten thread from Glenn. Folk might want to give that one a read, too.
Sad that those toys are still abandoned Deevis. Perhaps you should visit them every year? Thanks for the link to that thread. My thoughts in starting this thread was for any toys found! @---NT--- I love the pick up version! I once saw one old and beaten up, parked near our neighborhood with a For Sale sign, for some unrealistic amount of cash. Shame it was so expensive! I don't think it was running though... Do you think if I sold some of my buta (esp. at today's prices), I could get one? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1961-Ford-...rentrq:2d282b5916c0a4e88434c574ffff43a1|iid:1
Recently spotted this in my Grans house. Probably been there for years but I’d never noticed it before.
Not sure how much your Buta collection is worth, but maybe... https://portland.craigslist.org/grg/cto/d/ione-1961-econoline-pickup/6936977669.html
Thanks @---NT--- ! I'm going to hold out for a restored model (probably cost a fortune to pick up, transport, and then restore). I wonder what the ride is like on those cuties? Certainly ample room for hauling toys! TGIF, get out there and find some toys this weekend!
