Takeuchi Yu is a really talented guy. Really talented. This will be his first year attending SDCC, so if you're going, be sure to swing by and make him feel welcome. Not to mention pick up the rad stuff he's bringing along. http://www.sqdblstr.com/interview/skulltoysinterview
We got all the way through the interview, entirely in Japanese, then he started to talk to me in English. We had a second interview in English where he talked about how he's been buying Transformers recently. Unfortunately, I turned off my recorder by then, and decided to leave it out. He can definitely get by in English.
Great interview Onwi, thanks so much for putting it up. Always inspiring to hear the creators talk about their work!
Oooo, just read it and am excited about this: "If I have time, a standard sized figure. After that, the next suit." Thanks, onwi!
Nice work! As others have said, keep the interviews coming if you can. They provide some interesting insights into some key figures.
Here is the current link to the interview: https://sqdblstr.wordpress.com/portfolio/skull-toys-interview/
going through my skull toys header archive and can't for the life of me place this header with a doku rocks. it came in a black blind bag, which makes me think possibly from an old pachi summit? could a Japanese literate sb'er please help with translation on the bottom line? All I can make out is 2008 thanks!
Found blog post by @andy that covers the event, with a photo of the Skull Toys table at the bottom: http://kaijukorner.blogspot.com/2008/11/pachisummit-fall-2008.html
You are a godsend kind sir!! Found the hidden toy via your link..it was tucked away on the one shelf I didn't look too deeply at (didn't think there was any skull toys there) Funny, I found datadub's & kaiju taro's Flickr albums from the March 2008 summit. But no Autumn 2008 albums. I even checked kaiju korner and couldn't find any signs of pachi summit full stop. Thanks again Daniel!!
