^^ That poor Baltan, what did he do to deserve that? Just minding his own business when he was jumped by a member of the Nagata School of Toy Ruiners. Now his wife and kids dont recognise him and he's been banished from his home for looking possessed by the devil.

Doesn't really remind me of Nagata's brand of ruiniation, not shiny enough, but still up there in the vast pantheon of Crimes against Yuji. That said, it's probably only the second-most unfortunate treatment of Baltan that I've seen:

Two perfect examples of what I was talking about in the other thread. Obscure the vinyl completely and you kill the spirit of the toy. Boo.

This is undeniably fugly.. All I’ve I got to say really haha.. I’ll just leave this here

Pic is from the actual creators IG account and gives all the info you may want from clicking on.

Edit: Just to clarify.. This is not a hate post, just posting for conversation around ugly toys in an ugly toy thread. Thanks!

^^ To me, it just looks like an attempt to copy Yukinori Dehara's toy style but without any of the charm.

Yea.. Not sure what warrants that price. And for a first time maker, they’re really not doing themselves any favors.

Just feels like a hype tactic right out the gate..

Well, in their defense they did take the time to paint each tiny tooth separately.

    You mean grill? Haha..

It looks like just one piece to me. Gold swipe right over. I can zoom in on the detail from my phone though!

Not a lot of toy designs actively make my day feel a little worse after seeing them, so clearly that one's something special. I absolutely despise it. The swastika is somehow the least abhorrent thing on it.

Also, "Please will you make a Hiroshima or Nagasaki nuclear zombie?" -- I wonder what that would look like?

Its a joke, but my point is made. The comments are lifted from other Tan shite.

Seriously what the fuck is up with moejoe2018’s comment?

I too thought this toy was real for a split second and was going to comment that it made Tan’s whole business partner theft, nazi teletubbies and “made in Japan” fraud look like a picnic at the park. Now you could chalk that up to ignorance but you’d be remiss to admit it isn’t entirely unbelievable.

I’ll be honest, I don’t outright hate this one. The others are pure trash, but this one is goofy and primitive looking enough do be mildly interesting.

Is it bad that I don't think it's the worst thing on this page, let alone this thread?

That comment is just so.... wrong. IG, I see that I am truly missing nothing in you.

@hellopike Honestly Phil, totally a personal opinion, but if you want a really great racoon-like figure (outside of the various more traditional Tanuki interpretations, I mean), I personally think you are way better off chasing the Marmit Mamitora toy:

My photo is not nearly as nice as the above, but I can attest it's great in hand. Totally unhyped, and there are a few different versions even you can chase, e.g.

    Also, totally not fugly.

We now return you to your usual toy-bashing discussions.

Taiwanese collectors gets to buy it for NT3000 which is around US$95.00, the ripping off apart, that is a meh for all those who "lotto" this for US$180.00 :dam:

That Marmitora is just Malibu Stacy with a new hat:

I always disliked the Vinyl Paradise series. Stiff, crunchy vinyl and overly goofy sculpts. But if you completely divorce the toy from vintage vinyl by sticking a tanuki head on it, I guess it's fun.
