In the 80s I was into Electronic Body Music. Never I have seen live footage of Revolting Cocks. I just found this:
The algorithms tossed this old favorite of mine at me the other day: Just clicked on it, and was busy feeling weird seeing the song set to one of those little movies, quite contrary to the way the song has lived in my head all these years, when I scrolled down and saw that David Berman's band was 'trending' for the worst reason: his dead body was discovered on the 7th of this month. Fuck. His final single, released a couple of months ago: "All My Happiness is Gone." Double fuck. Purple Mountains Silver Jews - Random Rules.
ah that vid was on a great old Electronic Body Music VHS comp... this gig at the Astoria was deranged..
wicked jam mate... so much good acid and general analogue weirdness has come out of the the Netherlands init...Bunker are deffo up there with the best record labels in the world..Unit Moebius,Legowelf,i-f,Sendex,Terrace..so many cool tunes...
Thanks! Funny you mention Bunker: they released one track by me. Bit over the top maybe but it's from my younger dayz:
I dare you, to be real To touch a flickering flame The pangs of dark delight Don't cower in night fright Don't back away just yet From destinations set I dare you to be proud To dare to shout aloud For convictions that you feel Like sound from bells to peal I dare you to despise Bureaucracy, and all it's lies In a void they stare They never dare to dare I dare you
S'funny, I had a little scrap of paper on which I'd scrawled, "I dare you to be real" attached to my boyhood bedroom's door. Affixed it some time late in the 7th grade and it remained there until I plucked it off while helping get the house ready for sale (and, ultimately, destruction!) just a few years ago. Roughly three decades. RIP, little scrap of paper. Velvet Underground - I'm Gonna Move Right In
So Liquid Swords has always been one of the GOAT so I can't believe I slept on this follow up classic up until now:
