I don't do high tops, but the Blazer is a good looking shoe.

I have a pair of the silver Kobe 2's, sadly known as one of the worst shoes ever made. In concept they were pretty cool, as a shoe, I might as well be wearing stiff boards on my feet. No matter how tight I tried to pull the laces, they never seemed to tighten enough. They never really broke in, and they don't bend at all where they should. They're cool in the sense that it will make people say "what are those ?!?! (moonshoes?)" but other than that, they're pretty sad.

Yeah, from a visual design standpoint I think they're a success (unlike the Jordan XV). But the material of the uppers just doesn't seem to be a good choice for shoes - especially athletic shoes. I remember when they came out I was playing a lot of basketball, and the reviews from people I played with were very mixed - some people said exactly what you said, while others said they were amazing. I did wonder if the people who said they were amazing were lying to themselves to feel better about their purchase. I've heard the same about one of the recent Nike KD shoes, too - some of which I think look nice for a modern basketball shoe.

One thing YJA is good for is not just kaiju and vintage toys! Picked these up for a steal and would never have found these Nike Elites in the US as its a Japan only color version. Also picked up a cool RVCA tee in a different color (not available in US) which was 100% better quality than the same tee sold here. Thicker t-shirt, better screen printing:

Damn, that is a great pair Lixx, I used to have some just like that colour scheme (only Reeboks). Ah, for all those lost shoes.... Japan is definitely a great place to source nice kicks/clothing/accessories, when you can afford it.

So, completely contrary to Lixx's initial intent, has this become the de facto sneakerhead thread? I could have sworn there was another discussion here somewhere specifically for this, but can't remember the name, and the SB search engine is failing as always. So, with apologies, guess I will leave this here.

I am not even a sneaker collector, nor do I like the bulky look either like Chris, but for whatever I feel I could really get behind a pair of these loader sneakers:

From page 1 my first post:

So basically if doesn't look like a 70's running shoe I hate it. In fact this thread has been ruined for me because everyone started posting the very kind of sneaker I hate. 1970's man- no futuritic looking old man orthopedic shoes. Has to look vintage.

Huge derail but wtf is with RVCA.. makes me so angry. There's no consistency within the brand at all.. the Australian products, especially t-shirts are so shitty they make Gildan look like the finest garments money can buy in comparison.

I used to have a pair of these (although not sure if it was this color or one of the others) years ago. I wore them almost everyday.

I recently read about how a pair of the first Nikes sold at auction for close to $500K.

It reminded me that I had heard that my boss had a pair of these sitting in his attic. So I brought it up and he was like "Yeah, I've got a pair covered in mud sitting in my attic. Maybe I should try looking for them!" Well he just showed me a picture of them, and they are not in much worse condition than the ones pictured in that link. He got them from Steve Prefontaine, and wore them for a season of track.

Woah, nice! At that point its worth considering them just as historical artifacts, those things deserve to be in a museum for others to see.
