Absolutely, inexcusably stupid development, given all that they had just experienced... for no discernible reason other than to tick off the "Gremlins" box on their "Nostalgia Beats To Hit" checklist. I wanted to jump at that point, too, yet for some reason I'm keeping at it. Going at a glacial pace, just finished ep 5 last night.

That was a major snafu that really served no purpose. Dartagnon could have been introduced another way to similar effect.

Six episodes in I'm still enjoying it, but not nearly as much as S1.

I see no point in starting or expanding on 008... take that out and the story progresses exactly the same... granted it can be setup for further episodes down the line, as of now... i see absolutely no point for it occurring. While it was a fun few days to keep me somewhat busy... it was nothing like season 1... season 1 I made sure to be glued to the TV... season 2, i fell asleep watching episode 1, next sit down i watched 1, fell asleep watching 2, next sit down watched 2, fell asleep watching 3... yadda yadda... took me at least 9 sittings to watch it all this time.

Watched ep5 last night and i'm enjoying it so far. I'm OK with the games arcade and all the forced nostalgia in general.
The bad-boy in his fast car reminds me of one of the lads from Lost Boys or Stand By Me, and its weird seeing one of the original Goonies figuring out mysterious maps and walking through tunnels again . . . .

With the new season being released today, I thought it might be fitting place to leave this bit of nostalgia. From the era where trailers built up the excitement, rather than just giving away everything.

3 episodes in and I'm pleasantly surprised with Season 3 so far. If it continues in this fashion it will retroactively erase my dislike of Season 2.

Hmmm. Thanks for this. I wasn't planning on watching S3 because I thought S2 was just a cash-in. I'll await further word, but will now consider watching S3.

Hopefully I won’t have to eat my words by the season’s end.

2 Eps in.. good time so far..

You all had to have noticed right? Invasion of the Body Snatchers, really? This is what its boiling down to? If so, I applaud the Duffer's for pulling the wool over our eyes for 2 seasons.. I was intrigued but the veil has dropped.
COME ON HOLLYWOOD! Where are the NEW ideas.. This is hardly a new idea.

I really enjoyed it. Probably my favorite season. But Honey Smacks were Sugar Smacks in the 80's.

I'm an outlier, but this show always reeked of forced nostalgia to gain traction. Totally calculated move IMO. I mildly enjoyed season 1 and could not get into season 2 at all.

I share this sentiment but I thoroughly enjoyed Season 3 overall. There was some painful nostalgia baiting in select scenes but the overall high octane excitement this time round made me forgive these trangressions.

According to wikipedia, the brand was renamed Honey Smacks in the early 1980's.

My family really enjoyed season 3, and we were all lukewarm on s2. Good times.

Not early, mid/late. 86 or 87, and that season took place in 85.

Those Bad Lip Readings make about as much sense as season 2, and are less frustrating.

Finally finished season 3, much more tolerable than 2, but it just doesn't have the magic anymore.

Give me a half-hour spinoff with Dustin and Steve solving mysteries and trying to pick up chicks. I'll gladly watch that.
