Well if that is the inspiration (which I would certainly take it to be), he will be in very good company. Just more confirmation how the Spectrum toys are thought out and come from a place of such connection to the vintage figures.
And, of course, it resides near a Gomora mini, and a standard Garamon. Not neglecting Goji or Red King, of course, but those are 2/3 my favorite traditional monsters.
So, a blue/green or navy blue vinyl base with what looks to be silver and metallic blue/teal highlights? I'm thinking we are looking at a classic vintage gojira colorway. Now where did I put that prayer hands emoji...
Finally got mine in the mail. Fantastic mail day! View this post on Instagram Godesu is all about that healthy lifestyle. Unlike myself.
Agreed! And what a tribute!!! Lovin’ this original Hawaiian Godzilla paint app. It’s wild to see his process and how precise he is. Especially when it comes to painting the eyes and teeth. His level of attention to detail is so appreciated.
Ah, so notifications have started to go out then? Guess the hunt will continue for me as well. Congrats to any lucky winners reading this. Lenny did some really nice work on this release - once again - really capturing that vintage feel but in a wonderfully updated fashion. I have no idea what the numbers were for this one, but as it was released principally for the Festival, I can imagine just a smaller portion were set aside for the lottery sales.
Steve, I suspect you will get another opportunity to enter a lottery for one with the next Super Fest held June 30th.
With only a second version making its way into the foray, Lenny - San really does have an instant, new classic on his hands. This homage to the 1970(?) Hawaiian Goji paint by Bullmark is so perfectly executed. That is, of course, only coming of my visual knowledge/comparison from photos. I’ve never seen the Goji in hand, but I’m in absolute awe of how gorgeous this release is. Much like the first release I got my hands on, I already can’t wait to see what’s next. If I can manage what I’d like to do I have somethin’ pretty fun in store for this release, photo - wise. Spoiler
You gotta fucking hand it to him. A stone classic sculpt, right out the gate. Beautiful work. EDIT: Just realized I'm basically repeating myself from a page back. Whatever, this toy totally deserves it.
This lil Godesu is looking stellar! His new friend's leg isn't too shabby either. Fingers crossed one of these will be easier to get, I can envision a mini army of em!
I love the new Godesu mini! And I’m glad he placed it next to the original Godesu leg for scale! That will be an AWESOME addition to, not only the shelves, but to the standard Godesu as well! However, I am totally shittin’ bricks over this Hawaiian Gomora tribute!!! “See you in the fall maybe.”
Really wanted to go for those old adverts that showed kids playin’ with toys and makin’ ‘em battle. I’ve had this idea since May and finally got around to doin’ it. Admittedly feels a little silly to have gone so out of my way to put this shit together, but I had a blast with it. And I think it came out pretty fun.
Awesome! This would make me want this for Christmas as a kid. (Now, too...of course.) Nothing to feel silly about. You always go to great lengths for your awesome photographs. Didn't you place a tentacle in a lake once?
Awesome man. When I was a kid I used to have a model train and did the whole creating the landscape, gluing down grass and making tunnels and rocks out of plaster. I’d love to have an environment like that again to shoot toys on.
