Starting a legitimate thread as I only saw the odd post here and there. Been very interested in 40k since ...eh... maybe 2003/4 when Warhammer 40k 4th edition was released. My neighborhood friend's mom took us to the local game store where I ended up choosing a box of Eldar (I think....Guardian?). Played for awhile with those and soon lost interest. Jump to the release of the Age of Sigmar a few years ago and I'm back to being extremely interested in both Warhammer 40k and AoS/Fantasy. Really keen on seeing on who here played or currently is still playing! Just went out this afternoon and picked up a Space Marine Tactical Squad box. My girlfriend is painting some Tyranids and I also have a box of Cadians collecting dust. I've also found that the Games Workshop minis are a great thing to have on hand while also painting sofubi, as you can bounce between the two while waiting for one or the other to dry! So let's see those minis and hear some stories! For Sigmar...or the Emperor! Whichever floats your boat....
Posting this Tyranid Ripper swarm my girlfriend painted awhile ago. I think she nailed these for sure. Jellybean 'Nids.
There is a turn based 3 v 3 mobile game set in the 40k universe, I finished the last pvp season in second place. Never played the tabletop game or got into miniatures.
Well speak of the devil....and HE SHALL APPEAR! My boxes of 'Nids and space marines just arrived today alongside their respective indexes! Can't wait to pop em together and make my girlfriend paint with me!
Posting here as I've been on an Age of Sigmar kick lately. Was out and about today with the girlfriend just sort of enjoying the day and we ended up stumbling into a small ramshackle comic/gameshop. They had these Warhammer Fantasy miniatures for sale. They're from the 4th edition which came out in the mid 90's. They've totally been there since then too.
The newest edition of Kill Team is super fun and doesn’t require a huge financial commitment. Highly recommend to folks looking to get into the 40k universe. Gameplay is quick and decisive...expect to finish a match within 45-60min once you learn your team and rules.
