http://www.bf0bd5f7b1a65e0c866a24697-16501.sites.k-hosting.co.uk/TimewarpArcadeUK/ I went with my brother, his mate and a bunch of their kids to a really great retro arcade on Sunday. You pay a reasonable one-off price and then all games are unlimited free play from then on. They had either rigged-up a small red button where the coin slot used to be on the cabinet, or you just pushed the 1up / 2up buttons. Have to say, it was the best time i've had in ages. We stayed for nearly six hours and were a bit frazzled by the end, but we all had stupid grins on our faces. They had a great selection of Driving / Shooting / Classic cabinets. They also had a few pinball machines. I played mostly on Galaga, Bust-a-Move, Prop Cycle, Robotron, Aliens Extermination, Raiden II, Virtua Cop II . . . . and the best one? That had to be the original Atari Star Wars sit-down vector cabinet. Man did that take me back, and the game still stands-up really well. Still very playable and cool
Started The Outer Worlds yesterday and stayed glued to my laptop for half the day. Sad as it is, I see myself doing the same today I told myself that, since I want to throw myself whole-heartedly into Cyberpunk 2077 in a few months, I'd only play The Outer Worlds if it turned out exceptional. And then it did. Well, shit. The writing and story hit all the right capitalist dystopia nightmare notes. As in, one corporation owns the whole starting town and employs everyone. That includes employing the gravedigger and owning the graves, so I spent a side-quest collecting graveyard rent payments from folks. Then discovered that the mortician couldn't pay, and suggested he hand over an IOU. Except he had no collateral, besides a pile of gold teeth. Why does he have a pile of gold teeth? Because he pulled them from the mouth of a receptionist who killed himself at work. And he did that because suicide counts as destruction of company property. He needed to pay up or the whole town would be liable for the damages. Anyway, if you loved Fallout and hate your boss, check it out.
Anyway, if you loved Fallout and hate your boss, check it out.[/QUOTE] I was hoping to see a positive review for this game on here. Really want to buy it but worried about how I'll stop getting other work done. Looking forward to buying this during my thanksgiving break
I have the Xbox Game Pass and Outer Worlds is on it so I have been taking advantage of that and really enjoying the game. Dialogue is superb and I am hoarding and stealing like Skyrim. I am still around the first town. It feels like Fallout, Mass Effect and Skyrim all in one and in space!
Finished FE3H: Blue Lion playthrough. Started up NG+ to do Black Eagle route. I originally intended to blaze through follow-up runs, but the RP elements are really the best part of the game. So I’ll probably take my time and get at least 200 hours out of this game. Also finished two runs on Man of Medan. My wife did the “blind run” and almost everyone died. I played through with her guidance, and we saved everyone...sort of. Good concept, fun game, but it lags often. That’s hard to deal with, in a game where everything is a quicktime event. Probably gonna pick up Pokemon Sword next week, but still iffy. They cut a lot of features, but it still looks like a fun multiplayer experience.
King of Fighters Allstar is pretty much everything right now. Never thought a mobile gacha game would be this fun.
I just started The Outer Worlds as well, and it's pretty fun so far. I also grabbed the new Modern Warfare. It was awesome to see a co-op mode on there. A buddy of mine finally broke down and grabbed an xbox and MW so we could play together. Unfortunately, co-op mode really sucks. It's unnecessarily difficult, with rapidly spawning bad guys (sometimes right behind you, immediately after clearing an area).
also started playing outer worlds. Well, I think I'm nearly done with it. Played the crap out of it last weekend. Awesome game. I wish it had more you could do with your character but the dialogue is great. I'm already jonesing for dlc.
Seconded now that I've spent more time with it. There are rough edges for sure, and indications that the budget wasn't massive. Regular NPCs don't seem to have routines that give the impression of a living world, which also makes it harder to rob people blind in the night and outside of a couple of fun companion interactions your spaceship doesn't have much going on. Lack of a third person mode, not a ton of guns, etc etc. But the bones are excellent, and what we do get from the companions really adds to the game. So I hope it does really well and squeezes a bigger sequel out of the publisher. That said, I've only encountered one nasty bug so far, and the game runs really well on my PC. Considering what a mess pretty much every Bethesda game has been at launch, and even after many patches, I'm glad they devoted time to making a game that works and doesn't rely on the free labour of modders to fix everything.
I've been playing a lot of the new Pokemon games. The multiplayer needs a little bit of work, but I'm having a ton of fun. I already sank 40 hours into it, and I think I only caught about half the monsters. The "raid battles" are a fun multiplayer feature, and I'm glad the Kaiju-size Pokemon from the cartoons are finally canon.
Pokemon and DQ XI S Just started Pokemon but I am loving it so far. I couldn’t get past Moon’s first 30 mins but this feels easier to start!
expanding on my 254 hours of playtime on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Steam. Been playing this series since highschool, so why stop now.
Still playing Pokemon Sword (if the new Corsola doesn't ruin PVP for me), but we picked up a lot of PS4 games on sale, this week. My wife just finished her first run on Detroit: Become Human. Maybe we'll play Nier Automata next.
I picked it up when I got the new Modern Warfare. The first couple of hours were a blast. After reading that it is only a 20-25 hour game, I have been putting off getting back into it, because I know I will be bummed out when I finish it. Haha.
Ok so if there's one game I'm addicted to at the moment it's Skyrim for Switch. Being able to play portable with the same AAA experience is amazing! The only downside is no mods at the moment but the game in general always has something you can do and character builds to explore. This is a must own for sure. Another game that recently came out is the Neverwinter Night Diamond collection. That's going to be my next buy probably considering it was one of the most addictive PC games i played for a long time. So two good non Japanese RPGs to consider for yourself.
I teased my wife for re-buying PC games on switch, but man is it convenient to be able to pause at any point, pick it up, and take it with you. I’m trying to play the PS4 God of War, but having a hard time finding the time to progress it. Between holiday plans and dogsitting, I just keep getting interrupted. And in a story-heavy game like this, I like to sit down for three or four hours with no distractions, when I can.
I never played The Witcher the first time around but just grabbed it on Switch for this exact reason. I don’t have a lot of time to play games but when I have to travel for work, the Switch can be a great travel companion. Given they’ve thrown all the extras in with The Witcher, it seemed decent value for money and, although I’m only under two hours in, it seems like a great game and very immersive.
Pokemon Sword was a major let down for me so I picked up Dragon Quest XI and have been absolutely loving it. The DQ world is exactly what I was looking for from Pokemon, the whole map seems like a missed opportunity on their part. There's a lot of unused space. I also would have liked the train to be an actual level with trainers, etc. its kind of pointless especially with the taxi available so early on. I know its meant for a younger audience but christ, the story is insanely bad!
Yeah, from all the leaks coming out prior to launch it sounded like it was going to be a shit show. But I was hopping it was still going to be good. Sadly it's not. You think they will fix it or call the game a lost cause and move onto the next one?
@Headhunter I can see them going the DLC route... which at this point I don't know if I would purchase. It should've been tighter from the start!
